I would have said: "Can I please have that bag? Preferably a large one because I have a number of dismembered bodies in my basement and I need something to put the parts I'm not going to cook".

You know, I thought you were joking but looked up Cannibal Holocaust today at Amazon and they also listed Porno Holocaust.

Is Porno Holocaust worth owning? What other cannibal genre movies are worth having?

Also, are any stores actually selling out of Cannibal Holocaust? Just wondering how well it's selling.

First, note that there are no cannibals, only a zombie. If you're a real completist for zombie films or sleazy Italian films, then yes it is worth owning. If you're a fan of Joe D'Amato porn films, yes it is worth owning.

If you want either good zombie action/effects, good porn, or even a fun movie to watch...then, no. Skip it.

dj summed it up just fine. Yes, I'm a completist in many areas. Kind of like a dvd/film slut. Thats me.

I own a few copies and although no english audio....I like this dvd:

...which may be ordered from Tony at Xploited.

Other cannibal/jungle horror I'm fond of include Cannibal Ferox from Grindhouse, Mountain of the Cannibal God, Eaten Alive(not the gator film!), Jungle Holocaust, Keep the River On Your Right(docufilm), Cannibal Apocalypse(John Saxon!), Massacre in Dinosaur Valley, Cannibal Terror, Man From Deep River and others. The above range from good to piss but they all have their reasons for being in the library. However, a few of the above really could use better treatment on dvd.

As far as Borders, they always know when I have ordered titles arrive. It's usually something nasty, disgusting and perverted. I'm the only one to feast on such genre at that store. When School of the Holy Beast arrived, even the young hotties were stirred a little. Something about little Japaneese nuns and thorns across titties....... Who am I kiddin? They think I'm one twisted bastard.

It was a guy actually,a rather large guy who I am 99% sure is gay. Since he had that highly exaggerated femmy way of speaking as well as his mannerisms which screamed "stereotypical gay guy"(& yes gay guys like that do exist..so all you PC freaks, don't get upset..since as you know,I am cool with the gays and trannies obviously).

And I do own I Spit On Your Grave btw,but didn't mention it. That would have been funny. "Oh yeah that 30 minute rape sequence is erotic!" just to play with the scared sheltered lady. Hmm I have'nt watched that film in a few years. I'm still trying to get a friend of mine to watch it,since he hates rape scenes the most when it comes to torment onscreen(he's a major gorehound though). Though ironically,he hasn't ever commented on the rape scenes in C.H. and loves that film. And yet Irreversible and The Accused disturbed him immensely that he is scared as hell to see I Spit on Your Grave. He has a similar reaction as that lady at Borders in the "No Nooo please god..get that away from me...ewww cooties!!"(if they dared made contact with the box).

And if it makes ya feel better. I did have the actual dvd case with 'pole' artwork laying on the kitchen table as I browsed the trailers and easter eggs on my laptop. My mom and sister came home with Taco Bell and saw it,but didn't say anything.

Oh and I did have on my Texas Chainsaw Massacre tshirt that day. Blood splattered title on the front and chainsaw dance Leatherface on the back.

Well, if you must own the DVD, I'd get the more recent Media Blasters/Exploitation Digital release, which is anamorphic with English subtitles, and has an English-subbed interview with Italian exploitation legend George Eastman. Although I not only own that X-Rated Kult disc, but I also bought it from Tony, I'd still say the new disc is the way to go. If you must watch this film, I'd recommend at least being able to follow the plot.

And, hey, Tony carries the new one, too.

Have it.

Sometimes coverart grabs me by the nuts and I'll double or triple dip. Whatever it takes! The Kult disc was my first copy of the film so I'm just a tad fond of it for that reason.

Definitely a personal choice, but I was kind of bummed that X-Rated Kult didn't use the iconic image of the zombie that Astro used as their cover. I'm definitely happy that Media Blasters used it again. I was also a little bummed that the X-Rated Kult disc doesn't actually say "Porno Holocaust" anywhere on the front...

Has the Grindhouse edition gone out of print to and back in print? This afternoon, I had ordered the last copy from DVDEmpire. Now it's showing that the 25th anniversary edition (upc 652799000329) is unavailable, but the Deluxe edition (652799000428) is available for a preorder shipment on 11/22. I thought that the film was a limited run of 11,111. Does anyone know if there are any differences between the 2 versions? This reminds me of the Batman Begins Deluxe oop mess.

Amazon also has the Deluxe listed for preorder, but the page has no details.

Well, per digitaleyes, the details are the same for both the Deluxe Version and the 25th Anniversary Edition (the one most of us have), the only difference being the UPC (or "UPC Code" as digital eyes calls it, which is redundent). A picture isn't available, so I don't know if it will look the same.

Well, I got my copy of the 25th Limited from my hold on DVDEmpire and it came with two little pieces of plastic broken off from the top center of the case. Not sure if it was a clip or something, but I'm gonna have to keep it since I may not get a replacement.

A-HA! Now it all makes sense. I couldn't understand why they would limit the edition to such a low number after all the work and years of delays. My guess is the package will change - probably to a double-disc keepcase, but the discs will be identical.

That's a great idea. Come out with a limited version early that collector's can fawn over (say, similar to the Vertigo DVD), then just come out with a regular non-numbered one.

In the future they should make the prints even lower... 5,000 or so.

Shoot off an e-mail to [email protected], they are really good guys over there. They quickly sent me out replacement discs so I don't see why they wouldn't send you a replacement case... worth a try.

Anyone know if there is a significance with the number 11,111? i just thought it was such an odd # for a release...

I was just posting at www.allhorrormovies.com, and someone mentioned that it is being re-released. He said that a friend of his who works at a video store, mentioned that it is going to be re-released, due to faulty packaging of the last DVD set. What the...?

(I actually came here, in order to find out if there's any truth to the rumor.)

Yes, there's going to be a re-release. The Deluxe Edition will be released on 12/20/05 (just in time for Christmas!). Apparently the only difference will be the packaging.

Well, I watched mine yesterday. I had never seen the movie, and it was, without a doubt, the worst thing movie I have ever seen. (gruesome horrorwise not plat or acting or anything) It was probably the only only time I will ever have to pause a movie and step away for a second. This is one of the few times, all the talk is justified. Just thought I would comment for other people like myselft that have not previously seen this.

Got my copy in Borders today, # 9233. It was priced $29.99, with 25% coupon I paid $22.49.

Disc 1 was floater, and both disc 1 and 2 have some scratches. Borders clerk said to bring it back if I have any problems viewing it.

what does that do for the numbering i wonder...i wonder what is meant by new packaging...like a keep case, or just a better hub.

Interesting definition of the word "limited" in this case "limited" means we're only pressing 10,000 copies, and when those sell out...we'll just make more.

Its a sleazy promotional gimick to sucker in people to buying their product because "if you don't buy now, it's going to be out of print soon".

What I find really interesting is that companies like Grindhouse get a free pass for doing stuff like this because they are hip/cool/alternative/underground, and yet when "big, evil" companies like Disney release their limited edition tins, you don't see them going back and pressing more copies or re-releasing them in a bogus edition (ie the exact same version, only this time calling it the deluxe version instead of the limited one)
