I was pointing out that doing something outside of what someone considers to be the "normal" time of doing something doesn't really mean anything. Some of us are able to get home from the store at 12:30 a.m., sleep seven hours and be at work at nine. Some of us are able to be at work and post on DVDtalk. But don't go dissing people for doing something seemingly out of the ordinary when it could be argued that you are doing it as well.

You'll notice my post came at 11:30 a.m. Was I taking a shot at myself as well?

I think he was being sarcastic and is actually one of those people who're gonna be somewhere tonight waiting for the release of the DVD.

As for why, I think I answered this before. Midnight events are part of the Star Wars Culture. It's always fun to hang out with people you don't know yet share something common with.
No, I'm going Tuesday evening. I will admit I bought Episode II at midnight.

Just wondering if anyone in central Indiana will be at the Bloomington Best Buy tonight. I just called the store to confirm and they will be starting the Star Wars related festivities (giveaways, etc.) at 10:30 PM, with the DVD set going on sale at midnight, of course. Didn't even think to ask what the price would be. (Note: I just called the Bloomington, IN store back and the person I spoke with said that the price is showing up as $51.99, but that there will likely be a reduced sale price when it goes on sale at midnight.)

Here is the store info:

Bust Buy
2721 E. Third St.
Bloomington, IN
(812) 336-7921

Anyway, is anyone going?

flyboy, even with the smilie face, some people would see this as insulting. As such, you might consider avoiding comments that could set someone off.

I just confirmed with the local Media Play that they'll be open 'til midnight for this. Not sure yet if I'm going though.

"til midnight"? that sucks they close one minute before "Star Wars" is allowed to go on sale. A lot of people will be disappointed...

I was at a BB for the Beatles 1st Anthology CD and they allowed customers to buy anything they want. I think they were open for at least 2 hours that night...

Bobblehead?

It's one of those toys with an over size head that bounces.

I saw the sign in Best Buy earlier today, and I think it (the Darth Vader bobblehead) is included in each of the three prize packages.

yup....last time was for the Indy box. I live pretty close so it's a fast trip. there were maybe 3 people there for Indy but I expect a few Darth masks and maybe a few teddy bears that I can step on as I walk out with the WS.

for Indy...it took 15min for them to locate a WS box....I expect the same tonight.

I'm off! gotta get there and scope out the scene prior.

I just picked up this set from Wal-Mart, but I overpaid big time as it wasn't for the sale price, so I paid full for this bad boy. I wasn't going to, but I was in line with a bunch of people behind me, and I thought what the heck. I've waited so long for this release, I'm standing here at midnight, I have it in my hand finally...so I dove right in.

$50.

The local Best Buy is giving away Collector's Edition issues of Star Wars Insider to the first 170 buyers.

Wally World. The best part was seeing everyone buy the Widescreen copies... and not one Pan and Scan box was sold while I was there.

$40 bucks!

Wow, this was more than worth what I paid. I just put in the first disc and when the music started at the menu, it took my breath away, lol.

I'm not even a HUGE Star Wars fan, so I'd hate to see what it does to the guys who live and breath this series.

I'm off to view the changes now...which I'm sure will knock me down a few knotches.
