Which stores are going to sell Star Wars at Midnight?

Anyone know? I don't have any 24-hour Wal-Marts near me, so I'm wondering if any other electronic stores are going to be open at midnight on the 21st.

We've waited this long. What's an additional 10 hours?

With DDD and other online stores that deliver pre-orders on the Monday before the release date, why go through all that midnight release folderol? That's soooo 20th century!

Because it's fun

I would like to know who (other than Meijer) will be selling this at midnight officially.

Yes, but the online stores do not guarantee that you will get them before release date. I did not get ALF from DDD until nearly two weeks after release.

Well, my local Wal Mart pissed me off when they did the LOTR-ROTK release. For weeks they had one of those advertisements attached to their entrance gate thingies saying that there was a free bonus gift for buying the DVD between 12:01am to 5:59am. Only problem is that the sons of bitches weren't open then! I went up there just for that very reason and they were closed up, locked up tighter than shit. Oh, there were two guys in there setting up the display by the concession bar, but did they hear and see me beating on the door? Nooooo. I was pissed. If you're going to have a promotion, the least you can do is be OPEN FOR IT!

I was at a BEST BUY midnight sale for THE BEATLES 3rd anthology cd. And it's no big deal, it's not like you can go thru the store and shop around, your only allowed to grab what they are selling at midnight.

I'm pretty sure one of the local Fry's, Medial Play or Best Buys will be having a midnight thing for this.

I have yet to have a preorder arrive before or even on a release date. Granted, Ive never preordered more than a month in advance, but I preordered Star Wars from Amazon in April...somehow I imagine Ill be getting my set by the Friday afterward at the earliest though.

It's more about the whole wait and line fun. I'm sure many places will be offering a midnight release.

Bingo! I have been at the midnight release/debut/premiere of the Star Wars Episode I toys, Star Wars Episode I film, Star Wars Episode II toys, Star Wars Episode II film and Star Wars Episode II DVD. I am taking September 21st and 22nd off from work for this. I'll pick up the DVD's at midnight and have 2 days to enjoy the contents!

If I had the time I would probably get it at midnight, but seeing as I have a long day of classes on Tuesdays, and I value sleep, I think I'll go down that road.

I'm surprised so many people will be giving George Lucas more of their money.

I'm just stocked that Star Wars toys are still being produced! It's not 8 year old kids getting them ....it's 20+ year olds buying them. How sad....May the Force be with you!

I don't think that's sad. Have you seen the figures, they're pretty cool.

Please! It's not about giving Lucas more money. It's about owning a group of films you love and have waited for forever, on DVD. How much money have you forked over to studio for DVDs? I bet if you add it up, it's a pile of frickin' money. So what's any different about this, other than it being Lucas? It's the same to you and me.

If you're talking about double dipping, every studio does it. Look no further than Superbit, which is nothing more than a double-dipping scheme. If a consumer is willing to part with his money, don't blame the studio, blame the foolish customer. As Obi-Wan said, "who's the more foolish, the fool or the fool who follows him." No truer words have ever been spoken.

Besides, why would you care what other people do with their money?

I think the original poster was asking about the DVDs, not the toys.

I fail to see how waiting in line can translate into any sort of fun whatsoever. But maybe that's just me.
