I think "Open Range" is DTS, regardless, the track was awesome, though the movie wasn't.
An awful lot of people experienced a lip sync problem with the Die Another Day DTS soundtrack when it came out.

The DD track on Die Another Day is better than the DTS anyway...and the lip sync is less prominent on the DD track has well...I think it was always that way in that scene...I seem to remember it like that in the theater...

I use the first Collesum (sp?) scene on Gladiator as demo material for those who have seen the film since there is a huge plot point revealed here.

Were the DTS soundtracks on laser disc better than dvd? Is so, why? How about if they had the same exact compression?

I'm impressed by Saving Private Ryan and Blade II.

Yes. Mostly. All of the DTS laserdiscs were at the full bit rate (1509 bps). If you look at my earlier post on page two, I posted a list of all the 1509 bps bit rate DVDs that were released in the early days of DVD. Today, 99.9% of all DTS DVD releases are half bit rate (754 bps) to accomodate more special features and a DD 5.1 track as well.

The movie stinks, but the remake of The Haunting in DTS is a giant in soundtracks when it comes to bass.

I was thinking about this title, but had the same doubts if it counts or not. Great DTS track.

Something tells me that when HD dvds come around, they'll be advertising "FULL DTS" dvds....

Most have been mentioned Blade 2, Gladiator ect.

Loved the Bram Stokers Dracula track.

Somebody mentioned The Rock, is that the first release or the Criterion version? Just wondering....

I only roll my eyes because they should already include full dts now. It's just a built in gimmick to have people buy the same movies over and over again. They should've never stopped the practice....

Is there a simple way to tell now if a DVD has full bitrate DTS before buying it?
