New details about this release from DVDAnswers as follows:

Further details have begun to emerge on the new Matrix Collection which will be arriving in shops from the 7th December. It will be available in two editions. The first of these will be a standard (if you can call ten discs standard!) edition including the three films along with The Animatrix and six-discs of bonus material. This will retail at around $79.92. The second will be a collector's giftset containing the ten-disc edition along with a Neo minibust and an 80-page book with never-before-seen artwork and storyboards. The retail price for this one will be around $129.92
So another $50 for a bust and a booklet? No thanks. Standard edition for me.

All well, $60 (retail sales) for a ten-disc set is still pretty good. Still looking forward to it, although it may have to go on the wishlist for Santa...

I'm hoping the giftbox doesn't sell well so the price will drop like other giftboxes recently

I like the minibust and I can afford it.... but, man, that price seems high.

I'm sure it's just a bit of color correction to help some of the washed out scenes. The film already has a green and blue tint.

Amazon will probably be $75-80 for the gift set, maybe less after STL, so really, it won't be that bad.

If I can pick up the standard set for $40 at Costco, like I did with the Alien Quad, I doubt I'll be able to lay off this. Otherwise, I'll pass.

I have Matrix plus Animatrix and could pick up a used Matrix Revisited for a song if I really wanted it. I'm in that camp that is only interested in the Matrix Remaster. Watching Reloaded and Revolutions with the critics commentary would be the only way I would be able to sit through those movies again, and that would be a one shot deal, better suited for a NetFlix rental. So, if Costco fails me, I'll wait for the inevitable Matrix Remaster individual release. Hopefully it won't take as long as it did for the standalone Godfather to appear following the Godfather Collection debut.

Hmmm, it's tempting. But I'd only be willing to pick up the standard set if I can get it around $50.00 or so.

Damn, a bit more expensive then i had hoped for, but i'll probably still buy the set. Not sure if i want the gift set with the bust yet, but hopefully we'll see some great deals when release time gets closer.

I for one am gonna wait til the reviews come out for this before I go ahead and purchase. I already have all three movies, animatrix, and revisited. It seems kind of a waste to go and repurchase if there is nothing really new. I was really hoping for some extended fight scenes or something, but we get nothing.

The box looks great to me! I'm not sure if I'll buy it yet. I may just stick with the original.

I get so ****ing tired of these expensive boxed sets being put in the cheapest, flimsiest packaging available. And it's almost every damned studio that pulls this shit... Paramout with The Godfather/TNG, Fox with Alien Legacy/Buffy/X-Files, WB with Babylon 5/Matrix, New Line with LOTR Extended Cuts.

Even with meticulous care, these cardboard packages are subject to wear and tear just from sliding them in and out of the slipcases and unfolding them. Before long, they're going to get scuffed up and worn.

What the hell is wrong with KEEPCASES?
Frankly, a boxset in keepcases looks cheap-o to me. Keepcases are made to order, and the studio just has to print a piece of paper and stick it in the cover. I imagine that, when directors are involved and they want a stylish package, they insist on a digipack. I think the LOTR and Fight Club packages, in particular, are extremely classy.

Plus, when you've got a 10 disc box set, the space on the shelf for keepcases

I really wish they would do a new bust for this set. I think the busts are great but I'm not buying a 3rd Neo one.

Then again that case looks awful and I normally like crazy cases. I guess I should be happy to save some $$$ on this release.

I'm sure the returns rate for the LE version will be high. Look at the all plastic construction of the box and cases, that will break and crack all over (reminds me of those cracked Schindler's List giftset).

But then again, the LE set looks cool. Decision. Decision

What sucks about the giftset case is if you put the minibust on a separate shelf the right half of the DVD case will be empty and it'll look funny unless you find something to stick in there.
