I know this may be off topic..... but I just had to ask.

Did one of the Wachowski brothers go through with that operation thing?

-On Topic-

Hopefully the "new" Matrix will be offered separately. Be nice if we could finally get a DTS track on this guy.

Well, "Remastered" means just that.

"Recolored" means that it's probably been re-color-timed to match the slight greenish tint that the sequals had. In the original, the Nebacanezer (sp?) and "inside the Matrix" scenes had a bit of a blue tint. Well, I mean just look at the cover art of the DVDs. The original Matrix is blue. The other two are green.

I might be interested in getting the original if it is sold seperately, but I'm certainly not buying the sequels again.

I'm glad they're keeping the extra's different from the original releases, that way it doesn't sting as much if you double dip. I'll probably stick to the ones I have now.

There's also 2 new pictures up plus the features list at Digital Bits.

The Neo bust looks cool and the book sounds interesting but the disc holder better come in a better looking case.

Yeah, the disc holder leaves much to be desired...IMO it's rather unpresentable! the DVDs are stored horizontally
Warner you'd better change that!

While the one with the bust looks kinda interesting, I almost think I prefer the Matrix code design of the regular box set. What do you guys think?

The extras is great which goes without saying but what sold me was having the extended version. Now i don't know. I'll have to think about it. The package looks stupid, however the regular box set looks way better.

I already sold my Matrix, Reloaded, and Animatrix DVDs. I plan on buying the gift set. The new transfer of the first film will be a definite improvement.

I sure wish Lucas would have given the Star Wars Trilogy the same treatment the Matrix will be getting. I won't be buying this, however, as I am not that big a fan of the Matrix films.

I actually think the case for the Gift Set looks pretty interesting... i'm not a big fan of the clear plastic, but i do like the way the discs are held.

Excellent price if that 59.99 is true as well.

Here is another link:

The only special feature that I wish they carried over to this set would be the MTV spoof from the Reloaded DVD. That was too funny.

Although the clear plastic case looks cool with the sliding disc trays, I'll probably just get the regular box set. Looks to be about the size of a Stargate SG-1 set. And at SRP of $60. That's a great price. 25% off, let's see, that comes to $45. About the same price or so as the Star Wars set.

Im in with the "only the first film" crowd... If it's available (and you know that it probably will be $$$) I'll pick it up. No interest in the rest of the box.

I'm in with the "how many times have studios broken up box sets" crowd. This question gets asked everytime a new box set gets released like this. "Will they release these separately, I only want 'such and such' movie." Now ask yourself, how many times have they done this. I can think of just two. The Godfather set and the Alien Quad.

Besides, are none of the extras interesting to you all, who just want the original separately? The commentaries on the others, the new "Revisited' discs for each? The new three bunus discs?

Considering how many people enjoy the first but hated the sequels, i'm pretty sure that extras aren't the issue.
