Yeah I've been thinking about doing that, but with the unit I have, at least 4 dvds on each edge would be hidden by the wood panel so I have to figure something out

The towers, center and rears are Klipsch Synergy Series - Model #s KSF 8.5 (fronts), KSC 1 (center), and KSB 2.1 (rears). I've had those for about five years. The sub is a two year old Definitive PF15TL+, and it sounds absolutely incredible. Unfortunately they're all powered by a cheap old Sony STR-DE935 receiver.

The TV is a Sony KV-36FS320, and the DVD player is an outdated Sony 7700.

For those with the Meijer dvd shelves.....

Do the dvds stick out much? The reason I ask is because from the pictures it looks like the dvds stick out a little from the shelf and I was wondering if the dvds collect much dust.

Also, you wouldn't happen to have the height and length? It looks like the depth is approximately the size of a dvd case.

Thanks!!!
They're almost square. 48 1/2" high, 47 1/2" long, 6" deep (actual shelf depth 4 3/4").
The DVD's do stick out a little, but it's negligible. IMO, it makes it easier to pull them out. Take a disc from Meijer's DVD section and try it out on the shelf before you buy it!

A lot of people do this. In fact I my self have a few items that I keep in original boxes. They are just worth more that way. But totally up to the individual on whether they think they will ever sell them.

Unfortunately, millions of other people share the same state of mind. It's no coincidence that a lot of these sure-fire collector's items demand less than what you paid for down the road. Too many people are concerned with the value of toys instead of their true qualities.

I agree. That's why lately I have been opening more and more of my items.

I recently made myself a new shelf and thought I'd post it. I had made a shelf close to two years ago that was overflowing with DVDs (my games weren't even on it anymore), so I needed to upgrade. While I am not sure I am a fan of out-in-the-open approach, living in a duplex, I have little choice. This is only meant to last until my wife and I get a house as well.

It goes floor to ceiling and has ten shelves total. At capacity it can hold 600 DVDs. I mounted it to the wall (screwed into studs) to insure no tippage or moving (baby in the house). I may have to find some way to block off lower shelves though as once our son is crawling, he may prove to be a disaster to organization.

Sorry for the crappy picture, I took it at night and sized it down considerably.

Until I get a new digital camera, this link will have to do. I created renders of what I have and what I want - enjoy!

I have figures and the like that I keep in the package but would never sell. I like how they look in the case...don't know why, just do. So us case-keeper-inners aren't automatically out to flip our wares for a bit of change down the road.

Plus for some reason I have the worst luck with standing figures. They always want to fall down on me. The little bastards. Plus the figures I buy (the DC Animated Uni stuff: Batman: TAS, Justice League, etc) isn't really poseable like the McFarlane stuff. Ok done defending myself now .

Fairly cheap actually. I'd say altogether, $40. Since I knew this would be temporary, I used cheap wood. However, some putty, some sanding, a little sealant, and it looks very nice. Only close inspection will reveal minor flaws.

I used a stud finder to locate the wall studs. The shelf is wide enough to have screws in two different studs in each of the brace pieces on the back.

It is 8' tall, 3' wide, and 6" deep.
