i guess that's the RC1 box isn't it?
in my collection: that's a netherland double disk with the japanese dvdbag and the right one ist the japanese dvd gift set
Quick question, what is that crate that says Spiderman on it?
I'm female, straight (considering that showgirls comment and what i had to read in other forums about buying that box
), movie fanatic (in fact i love movies passive and actively), liberale of course (but that's too easy now with bush being president right? i'm really interested and will definetly be live on CNN november, 2nd ... GO VOTE!!!
), NOT rich at all (i just work to spend it on stuff like that. but not verything o f course. i'm quite young and still live with my parents (i have my own big room), so i have more money to spend then those paying there own flat and stuff. )), and not more crazy than all of you guys, just have more money to spent on it
and i have a home theatre .. a beamer/ video projektor (it's in it's bag), a screen for the beamer (theatre wall? don't know exactly what you call it), a receiver etc. just not the most expensive ones as i'm not that a technic freak. and (as i watch most of the movies on the TV) i' ll get a new one at the end of the year (about 1m picturesize but shouldn't cost more than 1700$)
thx for the comments. i like critics (that make sense) too

but there are collections here: OH MY GODDD!!!! more beautiful than anything i've seen. so well sorted, and so much space for the dvds ... great ... great thread btw

the sticker is from my father (was originally his room, so you may wonder what these terrible couchs' and furniture have to do in my room. all from my parents. i wanted to buy new, but they didn't want to throw the old stuff away), as a souvenir from our 95 trip to texas. i would never buy such a sticker nowertimes considering your president coming from there ... but i would put a california sticker on the wall (besides the fact of the gouvenor)

But how do you arrive at that total? A good handful of users on here built their collections in '98-'00, when the average cost of a dvd could be had around $6. Under $10 easily. I used to average $6.25, but since the deals like those dried up my average has crept up to close to $8 per dvd.

that just seems like an average...I have a friend with about 350 discs and he said he spent about $7,000...
me I used to have around 1,000 and it was around $19,000...now I'm down to 250 and its about $6,000...those X-Files sets are $1,000 on there own!

Please be respectful of others' politics here - it's really not the correct thread for off-the-cuff Bush-bashing. There's an election forum on this site for that. Please no cheap shots (like Germany's 11% unemployment rate).

Yeah, I thought "beamer" referred to a BMW, as well.
Great collections, all - where'd that Evil Dead II quad come from? I'd love to get one.
Also - anyone else have any lenticular posters? I just got my first (an E.T. on DVD poster), and don't think it'll look good in a regular frame. Any ideas on buying or constructing a lightbox on a budget?
Cheers,
-the Jesus
