I finally bought a good enough digital camera to post some images of my collection (500+ DVD's at last count). I have run out of room and will soon need to find another storage solution. Try not to get blinded by all the shiny plastic on the unopened DVDs.

The double-box is teh Japanese Mononoke Hime/Princess Mononoke.
Most of the Ghibli/Miyazaki-stuff came with one dvd or another, except for the Totoro diorama calendar, the alarm clock and the plushies.
Your original Nausicaa poster was used to make the framed print that came with the big Limited Nausicaa set:

Because my digital camera is on the fritz, I've been rendering my HT room. If you look at the very last photo, that was how it actually looked last year before I bought the IKEA shelves. The first four images are the renders - notice the Now Showing display! I created that using 3ds max.

Artman...

I'm just doing it as a hobby now, but trying to get better and better! I'm using 3ds max 4 to create special objects (like the lamp and the Now Showing) instead of using "canned" ones, but the main renders are done using 3D Home Architect 6! It can accept .3ds files. so I create them in 3ds max, then import them into the library of 3D HA!

Someone I used to work with used Bryce ($79 at Fry's) and she created wonderful fantasy effects. I'm working on real world stuff first to create a base, then I may play around with other concepts.

Njål, I like the limited edition wooden Studio Ghibli DVD player you have. IIRC it was packaged with the R-2 release of "Spirited Away." Do you recall what you paid for that release and do you know how many were released?

Yes, it came with Spirited Away.
I can't really remember the how much I paid anymore (but the list rrp was Y19800), and while I'm quite sure it was stated how many were made at the time, I can't remember that, either.

Thought I would give posting an image another shot.
Hope it works this time.
I have a Samsung 50" DLP with a Sony STR-DE 545 DTS receiver. The DVD Player is a Momitsu region free player with DVI output. The rest is a Dish Network DVR and a Toshiba VCR which is not used anymore.

Arcade, do all movies look that sharp on your tv?

Yes. Most all movies look that sharp on my tv. The Momitsu DVD player upconverts all my DVD's to 720P which is the native resolution of the Samsung DLP. Since I run it through the DVI cable the picture stays digital all the way with no analog conversion.
Of course some older DVD's with bad transfers will show their age but 99% of the new stuff looks fantastic. I really like to show movies like Lord of the Rings, Kill Bill, and the new Star Wars on it.

I recently added a HD over the air tuner. My city only has CBS in HD but the picture is nothing short of amazing.

Shagrath,

Where did you find those DVD racks. I've got 3 of them and need about 3-4 more but can't find them anywhere nowadays. Do you, or anyone else, know of anyplace still selling these?

I got all mine from Suncoast. Don't know if they still carry them. I hope so, since I'll be running out of room again soon. I've also seen the smaller ones at Big Lots, so they also get the large versions in from time to time.
