Its listed as having a 'metal box' as one of its features.. I ordered Some like it hot from the same site with the same metal case 'feature' and it was a steelbook.

Not all their cinema reserve dvds are listed as having a metal case so i think its a definite.
Thanks for the info Piecez, but Play.com doesn't ship to NZ

Oh right, i'm not sure of any other place that sell them that will guarantee a steelbook. A seller on amazon.uk has a butch Cassidy steelbook but it's used.

Do any of you fellow collector's know where I can score a BATMAN BEGINS steelbook case? I really don't care what region it's from, though if there are more than one out there I'd prefer one with English text (if possible), otherwise foreign text is fine. I've posted a "wanted to buy" listing on DVD Talk, but if someone could point me to a retailer that sells these I'd greatly appreciate it!!

Rick here is your answer in reguards the Batman Begins Steelbook, as far I am aware of there are two out there, The German Steelbook Region 2 with German wording on it, and then the Spain Steelbook also region 2:

http://www.dvdgo.com/product~catgid~...+Metálico).htm

I own this one:

It does not have any spanish wording on it, all english. And it does say "Limited Edition" on top.

I bought mine on the evilbay.

Hope this helps, good luck.

I'd love to start collecting some international steelbooks, but I'm not sure I can justify it without a region free player... any suggestions?

I personally try not to get the international steelbooks, but from time to time I buy some if the Region 1 conterpart is by the same studio, then I toss the other region discs away since I dont have a region free player. (I know it sounds wrong, but my "sickness" has cause this to happen!)

i have the german edition and think it is the best. english front. german back, but i really don't look at the back as i put the R1 discs inside, so to me it is an R1 SteelBook.

I have bought a couple of dvds that i can't play on my dvd player or that have a foreign language (no english subs.) What i do is, just buy the equivalent in my region and then swap the discs over.

I would only do this (or i have so far anyway) for box sets that are too irresistible or for a dvd that comes with something that won't be released in my territory (like artwork/storyboards etc). I don't mind buying a double to swap the discs because you can get dvds for next to nothing nowadays.

You might be able to make your current dvd player region free. It's not hard to do, so I've read. Be forewarned though, if you make it region free, you will be scouring the globe for international steelies.

I have a few R2's Steelbooks, but I'd rather keep the original discs in them. I've thought of keeping both the R2 discs as well as the R1's in them, maybe put the R2's in sleeves or something, but I haven't even bothered to make my player region free yet. I only have one R2 that I don't have an R1 version of, Pan's Labyrinth, so I'm in no hurry to do it.

That Hell Ride looks interesting. I might have to check that one out. I guess that would be the one to make me get my player region free finally, or double dip on it.
