The film 1900 was released as a Steelbook in April 2007 and then withdrawn later that year as they had missed some of the original footage from the film.
They have now re-released the film on the 28th July 2008 and although none of the sites selling the DVD show it as a Steelbook I have just received mine and it is the same as the original Steelbook except for a sticker on the reverse changing the run time.

I collected mine on line from Play.com

I have a scan of the Steelbook but can't seem to post it on here.

Yes you are right, but yesterday the picture shown was the one that I posted.It seems Play.com put up the wrong picture, the one they posted yesterday is the standard 2 disc that will be available in the uk.

hi, where can i get the alternative (second) steelbook?

The picture that is on this link was the picture advertised by Amazon uk when they first posted the dvd for sale.
They have now posted the same picture as hmv.com and play.com which is the black tin with red picture of Brando.

If you refer to the alternative Apocalypse Now steelbook, it looks like there won't be an alternative in the uk.
If you refer to another alternative please list the name.

I was referring to the apocalypse now cover that shows water dripping off of the face. So that was an early artwork.. Would have been nice to have that one as i already have the red artwork on the standard dvd release.. Still looks like a nice steelbook though. Thanks

I agree the other cover looks much better, I have just ordered my copy of the advertised steelbook.
Lets hope they have all got the artwork wrong and the cover with the water running off the face is the one that will be issued.

HMV have announced on their website that they will be doing an exclusive to uk version of Indiana Jones & The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.
No release date yet and they are showing the same artwork as the standard dvd.
I will up date if they change their site and confirm release etc.

Amazon.de have a steelbook edition of terminator 2 listed as a 3 disk set that will be released october 24. No image has been posted

I recently purchased a secondhand copy of a german steelbook (trainspotting.)
i would have bought a new and sealed copy but the sellers wouldn't ship overseas.

In the images i have seen online, this steelbook comes with a numbered certificate. The dvd is in perfect condition, however there is no certificate. Is this a big deal?

Here are the second batches of Walt Disney SteelBooks, set for release on November 13, 2008.

I'm not too keen on those yellow disney steelbooks.. i hope pixar don't release their films using that yellow design.
