Looking into my crystal ball (A store had this out early), I see that Hannibal Rising: Unrated will have a slipcover.
Oh yeah. Shanghi Surprise: Special Edition has a SC too.

So these at Wal-Mart:
Siege, The: Martial Law Edition
Guns of Navarone, The: Collector's Edition
Caine Mutiny, The: Collector's Edition
I know The Siege came out this week but not too sure if the others are on the list already. I'll update and find out.

Huh. I'm having trouble updating the list.
I keep getting this message:
1. Please complete both the subject and message fields. Press the back button, correct the problem and try again.
2. The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 3 characters.

Phantasm (Anchor Bay)
The new Collector's Edition from Anchor Bay (MGM released it first). Did anyone get this because Circuit City supposedly had free posters SIGNED by Don Coscarelli with DVD purchase and i could never find one.....bastards.

Matilda (Special Edition)

Also, the guy i bought a bunch of slipcovers from emailed me that he's selling more on ebay...check it out here...very good price (even if you only need half of them)...

Slipcovers for 5/22/07
Here's what I saw at Best Buy today. It might not be all of them but it's a pretty good batch. Some have been posted above already (thanks guys!).
Flags of Our Fathers: Special Edition (Did not see a SC for Iwo Jima tho. Since Warner released it as opposed to Paramount, it may not come with one)
Epic Movie: Unrated (Did not see one for the Rated version)
Apocalypto
Afro Samurai: Edited Version (The Director's Cut was sold out at my Best Buy. It probably comes with one but I won't add to the list until we get confirmation)
The Cowboys: Deluxe Edition
Porky's: The One Size Fits All Edition
The 40 Year-Old Virgin: Double Your Pleasure Edition (Comes with a really groovy SC)
Rio Bravo: Special Edition
Target has a 3-Disc Flags of Our Fathers. I'm not sure if it comes with an exclusive SC tho. I'll try and pop by tomorrow to see.
As always if I missed anything, please let me know.

My 3 cents
I saw those Columbia Classics that you mentioned Vale..."Caine Mutiny".."Guns of Naverone"...they look so cool..hope they do more...
Some sc's i saw..
Rush Hour 1 (remastered release)
Rush Hour 2 (remastered release)
Constellation
The Breed - Wes Craven Presents
Porkys has all 3 movies in a box set collection with a very cool lenticular cover (doesn't qualify for "da list", but it looks sharp)
Speaking of lenticular, the movie i mentioned above..."The Breed" has one of the nicest lenticular covers i've ever seen. I've never heard of the movie (i thought it was "Masters of Horror" at first), but i might just buy this thing for slip cover value alone...Here's a pic that obviously doesn't do the image justice, but you get the idea...

Mark June 5th on your Slip Cover Calender...
I was trolling around Amazon DVD new releases yesterday and stumbled upon what will most likely be a great source of indescision and turmoil for many of us...it looks like some major studios (Fox, MGM, etc) are re-releasing some of their most popular titles with nothing added other than new packaging (which, unfortunately for us, is enough to usually generate a sale). On June 5th the following movies (and possibly more) will be re-released with either Lenticular or Steelbook packaging
Lenticular
Steelbook (all the 2-disc special editions)
I'll be curious to see how many of us "upgrade" to these new editions or just stay with our current items....
Lenticular
- The Abyss
- Alien vs Predator
- Robocop (rare, unrated version)
- Terminator
Steelbook (all the 2-disc special editions)
- Cast Away
- Day After Tomorrow
- Die Hard
- Fight Club
- Hannibal
- Man on Fire
- The Omen
- Platoon
- X2: X-men United
I'll be curious to see how many of us "upgrade" to these new editions or just stay with our current items....

The Hannibal Rising (Unrated) slipcover was very classy (no comment on the film itself
). The title and mask of Hannibal were embossed, and the title letters were goldenish/silverish. Also his eyes had some sort of reflectiveness.

I was just at Walmart today and saw some new sleeves. They now have Die Hard(I think it was part 1) with a Fox Spotlight sleeve. They also had a bunch of Double Features and Triple Features(I think they were all Warner Bros. movies) on an endcap of the DVD section with either a sleeve(for the double and triples;one DVD) or 3 slimpacks with a cardboard box(for the triples). I didn't have a pen or paper to write them down, but Steven Seagal had double and triple movie collections, Mortal Kombat had a double, and the first 3 Lethal Weapons had a triple.

Aquamarine SC?...help
Hey Vale,
Can you (or whomever posted the list update) confirm that Aquamarine came with a slipcover? I got that DVD the day it came out for my girls (after seeing it twice in the theater) and never saw one store that had a sc or have seen one since. Can someone describe it please and give me any details (store exclusive, lenticular, holo-foil, etc)? Here's the only DVD release i've ever seen and it's the one i have...Thanks folks....

PS...2 Disc Fantastic Four Extended Cut this Tuesday should have a great sc..

HD:
The 40 Year-Old Virgin: Double Your Pleasure Edition has the same type slipcase as the regular DVD version
Blu-Ray:
Both Pirates of the Caribbean releases have slipcases.
