I believe it came out on the week before the X2 & other fox steelbook titles, which came out on 6/5/07. I remember this because I was on Amazon.com trying to find out the release date for the steelbooks(When they first were going to be released), then I noticed a seller on Amazon was selling X1 steelbook for like $50, I did a little bit of research online to see where it came from, then found the X1 steelbook on the BestBuy website, I called my local BestBuy they said they had it that Sunday in stock so I drove like a madman to get it. So I could only assume it was the tuesday before the sellthrough steelbooks.

Sorry if I borred you with my little adventure, hope this helps.

I also think it's around June 2007 when Fox released other steelbooks.

I contacted Suncoast (40 mins. away from me!) twice. The first time the girl who answered stated they were going to have the theatrical & director's cut reg. editions, no steelbook.

A week and a half later I contacted them again, this time a guy anwsered, he stated that if FYE gets them they would too, but that at that particular moment they did not have anything as far as pre-orders or promotional info stating they would get the steelbook.

Last Friday I decided to call the nearest FYE store (75 mins from me!). The girl who answered looked up the pre-order info, and she stated they will indeed have a steelbook version, but pre-orders only.

At this moment this is all the info I could find out. So guess people can pre order the steelbook at the FYE stores(Not online, on their website). Until I see it I wont believe it. But just incase I am going to drive to FYE to make my pre-order.

I did not contacted SamGoody because the nearest one is in the next state over, Am not driving to another state just to get it!!! (Unless is my last resort!)

No 2-disc for that "Bee Movie" steelbook? WTF.

And the cover is cool, at least. The other two standard cases have horrible covers.

Also, I'm curious... I believe it's been confirmed that "Beowulf" will also be released in America at TWEC stores, correct? I am glad about this because it means the case will be completely in English. But how about "Bee Movie"? And what's the deal with the Steelbook only being for the 1-disc version and not the 2-disc?

At the time of my post, Amazon.de had "Steelbook" in the title. They have sinced changed the title to read "Digi-Pak". You can contact Amazon.de and ask for clarification.

Someone just listed a bunch of Steelbooks, all with 1 cent starting bids:

Hrm. I only have one steelbook, Bourne Ultimatum, and I'm pleased. I would like more. Didn't know cars was steel; the rest of those movies I have in 2 disc (except underworld) and aren't willing to double dip.
