Normally (in my case)... I rely in this forum's buzz by other members and the advance info of Store exclusives in the DVD Bargain section

A Canadian eBay seller is selling the following Steelbooks;

Cars
The Da Vinci Code
Pirates 2
V for Vendetta

All BIN.

Yeah, I know. I guess I'm kinda PO'd cuz it's the first Steelbook I've gotten at retail and it seems to be everywhere with no signs of leaving a la the Departed et al.

Hi jPoD_TGN,

I was not laughing at you but at your comment. It was like, I could see the expression on your face, from your post. LOL

jPoD_TGN 01-10-08 09:52 PM

haha alright. Cant always tell on the Interwebz :D

howwon 01-10-08 09:58 PM

The highest bid that I saw for a Steelbook, was approx. $180.00 for a Pirates 2 on eBay. This was in Dec or Nov of last year.

Spider-Man 3

Spider-Man 3 appears to be in play. Bid price is now double the store price.

Future Shop online is sold out but you can still get them at some stores in Canada.

YMMV.

Kory 01-11-08 10:30 AM

I want Spider-Man 3 but I hate how it has the French writing on it.

It would justify me spending $26.xx on a dvd.

Let me rephrase a question I posted the other day.

Does anybody who is buying HD-DVD and Blu-Ray movies still buy the HD version and the SD steelbook edition just for the steelbook?

Speaking for myself, I drop that much and a lot more on eBay and other online sites on a regular basis. This is on top of the TV Boxsets sale that I see on the bargain/sale thread here.

If the Steelbook is still sealed, take it back and get the cheaper regular copy. I see buyers remorse all the time and it is no big deal.

Dragon Wars

Has anyone here seen this movie yet?

Initial reviews makes this the worst film ever in the history of cinema. Worse than 28 Days Later or Sahara. Both movies that I have not seen yet.

Ok, so how many people bought the Steelbook?

where did you see 28 Days Later was a horrible film??? lol...that opinion is the complete opposite among most horror fans (like myself)

I dont want to start a whole new thread with this but does anyone have the UPC of the Dragon Wars steelbook (before anyone starts to insult my taste, I bought it for collectors sake)? Id like to make a DVD Spot entry for it but I dont have the receipt and the UPC isnt printed on the back of the steelbook like some of the others are. Thanks!

Well I'm 19 1/2--I dont really have the money to drop $26.xx on a single dvd, which is why my price paid per dvd is so low (~7.50, would be lower without Bourne, Pan's Collectors, Versus Steelbook, etc.). It doesnt really bother me that much, it was just the fact that it was the first one I paid full for. Btw, I just got my Departed Steelbook in the mail from the Bay. Damnnnn is it gorgeous.

you didn't answer the question...why would buying a DVD that is readily available for $26.00 make you pissed just because it isn't going away a la "The Departed"?
