I found a copy for £21.99 + £10.00 shipping.
I'm waiting for confirmation that this is in fact, a Steelbook copy.

Hi. I stumbled across an auction for Dragon Wars steelbook

Auction also says it comes with a cap.. I don't know if I can post the direct link to the listing, but it should be easy to search for..

Looks like it has a FYE price sticker on it. Any news on this?

The movie is a R1 and is officially released on January 8, 2008.

The jury is still out on whether or not this is in fact a Steelbook.

I linked the 2nd image the seller had which shows the security sticker indicating it's a steelbook.. If you look closely at the edges, they seem rounded like steelbooks.. But I guess we need final confirmation..

Going to WA state this Friday and will check at a FYE and Sam Goodies to see if they know anything..

I have found that a lot of websites, here and overseas, use the word, Steelbook - Steel Case - Steel Tin interchangeably, as if they were all the same. I almost got burnt on Amazon.de when they had a few "Steel Case" in with the rest of the Steelbook listings.

Plus, I find it hard to believe that everyone on this definitive Steelbook thread, missed it until a week before the release date.

I am waiting for a reply from the seller but my feeling is that, this is not a true Steelbook.

Hi. I got a reply from db27 who works at TWEC store that it is a steelbook:

I was wondering if you had any information if this was sometime that pre-orders were taken in store for? I understand they use these pre-order DVD cases to scan in the UPC codes..
Thanks
This is a twec exclusive and comes out tuesday the 8th. You can reserve it but I don't think you'll need to, not a title that your joe six pack people will be rushing to get.
Also, I also got a confirmation from Steelbook(tm) themselves:

"Yes Dragon Wars will be in SteelBook(tm). This will be a retailer exclusive in the US and I think will be for Transworld only. Not sure if Future Shop are getting this one."

Congrats all you US steelbook collectors, you might have your first exclusive SteelBook for your market..

I'm most likely going down to WA state this weekend, so I'll consider pre-ordering if they have some type of MIR..

You guys will get ANY steelbook? Even if the movie is (supposedly) really bad like Dragon Wars?

I used to collect for collecting sake, but not anymore. I realized if I'm not going to watch those DVDs, I should just stop buying them and save money.

OK. In the future, you may want to structure your sentences differently.

HD Steelbooks are presently only available in Europe. I think someone on a different thread here, mention that Death Proof was coming out on Amazon.de.

I have a question regarding this.

Does one need a region free HD Player?
Does OPPO make a region free HD player?

Well, Jonno2006, after talking to the guy at FYE, it doesn't sound like Dragon Wars is not going to be hot seller. They didn't get any preorders for the 10 they had in the back with 4 days left before release.. So I decided not to put any money down on it and wait to see what happens a few weeks later..

OPPO is coming out with a new SD-DVD player this year. No plan for a HD player... yet.

Well, it's a blind by for me. But if I was ever going to pick it up, I guess I would go with the steelbook edition..

I'm not a hardcore steelbook collector. I would only get R1 steelbooks for movies I would actually like to watch..

But I'm planning to make another trip next week, so I'll what the status of it then and see if there's a MIR.. $26+ US is a bit much for a movie I don't know anything about and in all likelyhood might suck..

Thats $4-$5 differential compare to the initial week release.

I apologize if this was mentioned elsewhere, but is there any sort of place that lists upcoming steelbooks?
