Got my Appleseed giftset today. Bestbuy's packaging needs serious improving. The giftset is only supported by some wrinkled papers. So the plastic box is basically destroyed. Luckily the steelbook and figurine are still intact. I planned to keep the giftset unopened, but since the plastic case is in very bad shape, I'm opening it.

Why wouldn't it work? Print off a copy of the sale price before it changes back to full price and take it in to the store for a price adjustment.

Are you sure that there is supposed to be a imprint on the spline.

Hmm. Maybe it's YMMV.. I was just in today to pick up some online orders and some guy are arguing with the rep to get a price adjustment off a printout of the price when the sale was over.. The rep keep reiterating the sale was only for those hours and the customer keep referring to the printout..

no, just shifting them around in the package a little...just enough to see if the steelbook has the name plate or not.

not an imprint, it's the plastic piece on the spine that all steelbooks have with the movie title on it.

My copy has the plastic piece that you are referring to, but there is no printing on the silver strip. I think it is supposed to be blank, to match the back cover.

Ratatouille was done the same way.

I was playing around with my Planet Terror steelbook, trying to tighten the loose front casing when it popped out and I had a crazy idea of putting the back insert inside the case. I think it looks better than the bland red paint, check it:

That's a pretty neat ideal. Did you have to trim the insert?

I had trimmed it beforehand to fit like a normal insert, but I don't think you'll have to trim it to fit in there, there's plenty of space.

any steelbooks that have come "side by side" with the normal DVD did not have the movie title on the steelbook spine...so no matter how many that person shifts around, he won't find one!

That same seller was selling "Cars" for that price and it's gone now. I assume somebody bought it.

The Best Buy "Bourne Ultimatum" has two discs, and there was no paper insert on the back of the case, it has all the movie information/pictures printed on it like a normal DVD release.

I'm still hoping that some nice Canadian out there can help me picking up some Future Shop steelbooks but be willing to only charge me cost + shipping. Holding out hope!

If you want the bonus disc in Canada and don't want to get another steelbook from US BestBuy, the BestBuy Canada single disc version appears to have the same bonus DVD.. But the price itself is almost the same as the steelbook version ($24.XX CDN)..

My second Appleseed Giftset arrived yesterday, from a different supplier and I would like to thank Purolator for crushing the hell out of the shipping box.

The condition of the second giftset is worse than the first one.

- Both blade pieces behind the neck is broken off
- Right arm came off the body (I think that it can be snapped back into place)
- Surprisingly, the DVD is not loose inside the case
- Damage to the blister pack in the lower corners
- HUGE sticker residue on the front of the blister pack

This POS is going back tomorrow.

Any US DVDTALK members want to trade one for and any two current Future Shop Steelbooks?
