Below is the actual photo of the rare edition of the Appleseed release.

Back then, its a 50/50 chance one gets a mint condition casing because most release has the action figure loose from its blister pack. And whats weird despite the reported problem, most retail stores went sold out within its release date.

For me, this is probably the rarest steelbook release in Region 1

My 3 Main Reasons!

1. It is the first Steelbook released in R1

2. The Giftset itself is Limited and #d out of 8000

3. GENEON (The manufacturer) is DEAD!

I was planning on only getting the regular Steelbook but xage's rare OOP pictures of the giftset kept taunting me.....howwon.........howwon......

Wow. I forgot how pricey it was. I'm glad I picked mine up for $25 US from RightStuf (online anime DVD retailer).. My friend also got it for $15 US during one of those FYE B1G1 free sales..

I think you and your friend got the regular steelbook without the figurine.

Nice to know you also got the international "Dual Symbol" Transformers Steelbook.

It is just so unfortunate that Paramount did not distribute it in the North American region.

I think Bourne Ultimatum will be the last one for a long while. There isn't really any BIG releases coming up worth doing a steelbook for.

Hello scott1598,

The outer case has a very nice, smooth, glass like surface finish to it. Most Steelbooks have a matte like feel to it. The artwork has a shiny gloss appearance to it. The case also includes a post card.

I can post photos, if anyone is interested.

Agreed.

I looked at the release dates for all of the Canadian R1 Steelbooks and the majority were in October and November, followed by June.

coltonford 12-09-07 02:52 AM

Actually that's quite good too. Take a break as I'm quite broke from buying all the recent Futureshop steelbooks anyway :)

ok. he was asking about the language on the cases for german steelbooks. i have this one and not all steelbooks have the matte finish. in fact, most of R1 of late have the silky smooth finish and not matte. cars, ratatouille, transformers, pirates...

Kory 12-09-07 05:20 PM

Posted this in the Bourne Ultimatum thread...

Best Buy's ad says that their Steelbook comes with two discs, and the second one is 40 minutes of bonus features or something along those lines. As much as I would like the Jason Bourne Collection, I'll probably have to get this instead. We finally win over Canadians! We get an exclusive with our Steelbook! lol... Unfortunately, they win overall, with the exclusives left and right. Still though, a bonus disc with episodes of "The Bionic Woman"? That is bad.

I'll pick this up for a Canadian who wants to pick up either "Ratatouille," "Jungle Book" (if it's still available), or "Pirates 3" for me. Preferably I'd get all three, and then pay with "Bourne Ultimatum" + cost + shipping. If anyone is interested, let me know.

orion1998_1 12-10-07 06:55 PM

rednowgreen 12-10-07 07:01 PM

It's not a steelbook, it's an exclusive tin that you got for free when you bought the dvd from blockbuster.

Not sure if that would work unless you actually went into the store during the sale or if you ordered online, call online support to get a price adjustment.. By tomorrow, the sale would be over and it's back to full price..

They're shrinked wrapped next to each other with the left side of the steelbook (spine) against the right side of the Pirates DVD.. How is your friend checking the spines? Slitting the middle and folding the two in half?
