Mine still hasn't arrived, and it was over a month ago that I got an e-mail confirmation saying it had been shipped.

Finally got mine today. I think its pretty nice actually. I do wish it had a top, but for only paying for shipping I'm happy with it. It looks decent on the shelf, and its easy to get into. Good enough for me. Hopefully they'll keep this up for future seasons.

This entire situation is reprehensible! Did anyone (ANYONE!) complain about the packaging for Simpson seasons 1-5? I don’t think so. This is clearly a case of lowering the quality of the packaging in order to lower costs and increase profits. If they wanted to make an extra buck, why not just simply increase the MSRP?

So does the new standard become consumers buying the discs and the packaging in two separate transactions? Ridiculous!

And I don’t buy the argument that this is a “free” replacement box. Trust me: there is profit calculated into that handling fee. If they really wanted to distribute "free" replacement boxes, then ship 100 flat replacement boxes to every Circuit City and Best Buy in the country. Then require consumers to exchange the cheap, flimsy, plastic heads for a replacement box. That’s a FREE replacement.

I want a matching digipak! --- To change packaging midway in a series release is inane.

I question just how much cheaper it is to make these plastic heads and stuff than just an ordinary digipak. I don't think that's the reason that they made the change. I've learned to live with it, and I enjoy the alternate packaging. Come on, there's gonna be like 20 seasons of The Simpsons. Do we really want every single season to have practically the exact same cover with the TV cutout and everything? Consistency is nice and all, but change can also be good to liven things up a bit. Anyway, that's just my opinion...

No worries for me now. Just got mine today. FYI, my cheque was cashed Sept. 12. I got the email everyone else got Sept. 15 and the package arrived today (Oct. 12). So it was exactly a month from the cheque to the package arriving, so maybe yours will come in November??

In the UK, the Season 6 packaging comes with a choice of a limited-edition Homer head case or a regular box that matches seasons 1-5.

Looks like we'll get a choice of packaging up front this time.

...and of course, literally an hour after posting that message my cover came.

Great news about Season 7 and getting a choice.

So, it looks like Season 6 will be the only one in the collection with a missing top...oh well, I put them on a high shelf so you can tell

I still haven't sent in for mine but this thread reminded me too. Before I do send off for the replacement box would anyone who hates the box like to sell it to me? I'll send $5 which should cover shipping and even allow for a little profit.

My check was cashed on 9/6, I received the email on 9/15 and have yet to receive the replacement box. Does anyone have a similar situation.

So those in the UK have a choice that North Americans didn't.

Recieved mine today as well. Thanks FOX!! Looks like some though was put into designing the box to fit with the inner digipak which is smaller than the box. Once again, thanks Fox. Homer's hollow head no lives on top of the shelf with all my 6 anal-rententive boxes sitting side by side together underneath!

That is great news. I guess demand for the regular packaging of season 6 was pretty high. Glad I don't have to spend an extra $3 for it next time.

hey gtcobra24, i'm in the same boat as you--my check was cashed and i got the email on those same dates. i'm wondering if i haven't received it yet b/c i'm on the coast...and there's no real channel through which we can complain, and that makes me a bit nervous. is it just that they're lagging and we have to be more patient? or is this some sort of USPS delivery issue?

I would think that if they had been planning to do this all along, they would have done it with season 6. Perhaps so many people voiced their dissatisfaction that they actually decided to change it, and our opinions made a difference. Or so I want to tell myself.
