There is a "Report This Post to a Moderator" link at the bottom of each post. Send it on to the mods and make your case.

Sure makes the original suspension look politically motivated. If you are going to suspend people for breaking the rules, you should at least be consistent so as to remove the appearance of bias.

Why bother? I used the links to report a couple of questionable posts over the last few days and sent an e-mail, but nothing has been done about the offending posts.

Back to the thread topic: I've seen the movie on IFC, and have no desire to own the DVD.

Why are people always so quick to scream "bias"? (I'd say especially conservatives, but it really is both sides.)

The moderator said, specifically, that Mike Lowrey repeatedly threadcrapped the same threadcrap and (here's the clincher which you're deliberately ignoring) did so knowingly .

He specifically said "hey, I know this is a threadcrap, but --" (approximation of crapping noises). Not to mention that he was making attacks on actual posters here, rather than just abstract "I hate Bush" stuff. I agree has no place in the thread, but the point is, suspension is not the *first* option, it's a somewhat drastic step. Mike earned it by repeatedly insulting *everybody* who was posting in the thread. Read the rules, that's against them.

As you pointed out, the post you're quoting was a new member who likely didn't know better and was quickly rebuked for what he did. It was *one* post, where Mike made *several* before getting suspended.

95% of the time that somebody claims something is a liberal/conservative bias, they're showing their own bias. (The other 5% of the time, they're talking about Fox News )

Also, just FYI, from a cursory look at the rules, criticizing a suspension which was based on thread-crapping is thread-crapping, so just remember what they say about glass houses throwing stones.
