So you think that if you went into a thread on Star Trek, stated you think Star Wars rules and you hate Star Trek, then made baaing noises multiple times, that you wouldn't be suspended?

Mike's comments seemed to borderline personal attacks as well as being threadcraps against the film. Not very well researched ones at that. I believe me, I don't care for MM's films at all and I think his comments were out of line.

PopcornTreeCt, ever heard of an analogy?

Not in the context of what he was saying.

Anyway, people threadcrap ALL THE TIME on this board and don't get suspended.
If you think a post is so bad, maybe you should let someone know using the Report This Post to a Moderator link, then.

My DirecTiVo and I thank you for the heads-up.

Actually, according to TiVo, it's airing a few times in the next day or so... 10PM on Tuesday 7/6 and again at 3:15AM the morning of Wednesday 7/7. Times are Eastern. For some reason, it's not appearing on IFC's own web site at those times(there's nothing listed -- just holes in their schedule).

yet another piece of Moore's America-hating propaganda comes to DVD.
yes.... anyone who isn't for election fraud, not counting peoples votes, sending over 900 soldiers to thier death in Iraq over a complete lie so the vice presidents oil company can get a multi million dollar contract, outsourcing jobs, allowing big companies to ruin the envornment, the loss of millions of jobs, sending the economy in the toliet, passing an act that tramples all over basic american rights and having the nerve to all it a "patriot act", working against the commision investigating the worst terrorist attack on this country, and not going after those who truely attacked this country while alienating the rest of the world... anyone who isn't for all that must be some American hating wacko!! Why don't you just go to France you left wing terrorist loving nut!

lol

Amazingly, since Farenheit 911 can hardly be found is theatres, I would bet it sells a lot of DVD's. Those opposing should have said little and it would have faded like his opther films.

" Wise up, sir. "

Gee, I wonder what FOX News host this guy emulates. Could it be the one who lies constantly and says he's "looking out for you" ? I think so.

I missed this film when it came out. Can someone tell me - in an objective manner - what it is about?

Given the success of Fahrenheit (reports today indicate it may reach $100M at the box office by the end of summer), I suppose we will see a lot of Moore's stuff coming out.

When Michael Moore was doing a book tour for "Downsize This!" he brought a camera crew along with him. The movie documents his book tour, and along the way he talks with Borders employees trying to get a union, visits a closing Payday candy bar factory and during an interview with Nike president Phil Knight challenges the shoemaker to visit his factories in third world countries.

Typical destroying the union type stuff.

Freedom of speech for all except those that disagree with you eh?
This last sentence is pretty funny considering the response of the right to MM

I'm also looking forward to The Big One - The DVD will be worth if just for the exchanges between Moore and Nike CEO Phil Knight

I like how people call Michael Moore fans sheep, and then proceed to believe everything that Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity say. Pretty ironic.

And, I fail to see how outsourcing brings more higher paying jobs to the US, but back to the topic at hand...

I rented this a year or two back and thought it was pretty good. A lot of the things he says though is right out of the downsize this book. Still some pretty good stuff here.

"The Big One" is not anti-America, "The Big One" *is* America. That's what the title means.

I entirely disagree with anybody who calls Michael Moore anti-American ... but I see the argument, however slight, in some of his work. However, "The Big One" is straight up entertainment. Especially the scene where the security guards lie to the cops about what they said even though Moore had it on tape.

After seeing that Fahrenheit 9/11 has gotten the endorsement of Hezbollah to be distributed around the Middle East
Just so everybody knows, that's a proven lie (I don't think Mike was lying, though, I think he's a sheep who buys into right-wing anti-Moore prop) which was being touted to discredit the movie.

Gee, I wonder what FOX News host this guy emulates. Could it be the one who lies constantly and says he's "looking out for you" ? I think so.
What's funny is, even O'Reilly has expressed his respect for Moore ... the interview he had a few years back is as good as I've ever seen either of them come off (I usually think Moore gets a little too soapboxy in interviews, and O'Reilly ... well, he's funny to watch, but he seems incapable of challenging his own beliefs). I hope he has him on again, but I doubt he'd risk the wrath of the Bush Admin.

How did this guy get so famous all of a sudden?

He goes from hosting Family Feud to directing films and boom, he is famous!

I never found him very funny.

Louie Anderson?

Anyways, I've seen this enough on IFC. A good movie, just not something I really want to purchase. I may rent it depending on extras.

I am very happy when this happens. I have not watched MM movies, but people have to understand freedom of speech does not give you the right to break rules you agreed to when you signed when you joined the Forum.

I must admit, I might check this DVD out and just have some fun watching it.

Yeah, do yourself a favor and watch this movie. Michael Moore has a bias and it shows in all his movies. But once you take away the bias and look closely at the facts you'll come away enlightened and with a different perspective on why we went to war.

This is the only movie I have ever been to where the audience stood up and applauded. It was an experience.

According to the Digital Bits, Moore recorded a new audio commentary for this.

But the issue here is that a thread was started about the DVD release. Mike came in took the thread off topic and insulted fans of the film. If someone came into a thread about the DVD release of a Roman Polanski film and started making rapist comments, I would expect the same response. There are other forums to discuss such things.
You sir are dead worng that thread got locked :P nobody got kicked.

http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...Roman+Polanski

There you go a fun read. Every other post is a mod posting.

PS. I hate MM but I don't post about it. I see no reason why anyone would even care what I think of him. Just like I don't care what gkleinman thinks of him or anything else. Anyway just what is this dvd about anyway? I never heard of this flim.

That thread is about trying to boycott the Pianist DVD. If someone started a thread that said "We should boycott Michael Moore movies" Lowry's posts would not have been out of line.

This thread was started to provide a release date for The Big One.
