The only thing I am disappointed with is how much complaining people will do toward anything Lucas does.

Nope not at all. Tons of extras out there to be put on a mega-box set, and hopefully by then Lucas will include the Original Trilogy.

In the meantime I'll wait, there is absolutely nothing on this set that makes me want to buy it.
I'm with you. I've got my THX widescreen VHSes to do me until the day comes that Lucas decides to allow us the original versions of the flims on DVD.

If it doesn't come: I'll still have my tapes. I'd rather have VHS tapes of the originals than DVDs of the "re-imagined" versions.

I'm all over this. This is one great set, maybe no completist but good enough. This sure be a tad better than Indy's box set.

There's always a but, so my But is:
-There's too many video game featurettes and E3 stuff. This is a box set of the original so let the xtras represent that.
&
-There should be an option to select the original theatrical and special edition versions.

Other than that, thumbs up!!!!!!

I still wish Lucas would just replace the ewoks with a bunch of E.T.s and then replace all the guns/lightsabers with walkie-talkies.

Hear, hear.

Totally agree.

While I wished that each film got a bonus disc for itself, I, however, am a realist. I realize that there just aren't that many 'extras' for each film to warrant a separate full disc for each film. Just as there wasn't enough stuff for separate 'bonus' discs for the Indy films.

Why is that?

Simple.

Filming behind the scenes stuff for these films back in '76, '79, and '82, just weren't thought of then. Hell, VHS was just barely in the market at that time. I didn't get my first VCR until Xmas '86. Having extras on VHS tapes didn't even occur until the mid-'90s and even then they were only short trailers or something.

But I suggest that before we all start complaining about the disc count, let's remember that noone has seen the 2.5 hour documentary yet. Who knows, this documentary may contain a lot of the footage that we've seen over the years. I seem to remember a TV special about the making of Empire that aired sometime in 1980. Other than that, I don't remember anything else.

What I'd like to see in a Mega Box set is a disc of the 1978 Christmas special, and perhaps both of the Ewok movies.
