Why would Disney go to this much trouble if there was something wrong with the disc? I mean, it would be easier to have people mail away for a replacement wouldn't it? And it has been done in the past.

Amazon.com just posted (Jan 29) my order of American Splendor, Alice in Wonderland and... Ed Wood. I know it's weird. I almost replaced it with Lost in Translation but then decided to wait a couple of days...

I don't know why. Maybe because I'm in Europe?...

I have had 2 orders cancelled, The one from DVDlegacy off Ebay got email that said it's not being shipped from the distributor. My FYE.com order shows item status as not being found, so the only chance I have left is the 2 copies I couldn't leave the FYE store with Wed, but was told you may prepay now and come back Tuesday to pick them up. Just hope no one snoops to much under the checkout counter and sees them before then.

There's definitely deleted scenes on the disc ... people in this thread have mentioned watching them, and it's listed as a special feature on the back of the disc.

There's a ton of them listed on ebay, I think once the rush calms down in a week or two, the price will drop dramatically. Right now, it doesn't matter that so many are listed, they are all closing at about $100 or more.

There are several local stores in my area that already have the disc ready to go for this Tuesday. I think many of us will luck out if we can be patient and avoid the unbelievable Ebay prices this movie is going for. I have the R2 edition, I can hold out for deleted scenes.

Apologies if this info has been posted(this thread is getting long)

Another update for those of us who purchased from returnwarehouse on half.com. I e-mailed them last night and surprisingly received a pretty quick response. I requested shipping info and the delivery confirmation number.

Bill stated the DVD was shipped on 1/29. I entered the Delivery Confirm number on usps.com and it was legit. The DC number really is not much help as it does not give you a detailed tracking update.

I still have not been charged for this however. I am more optimistic but until I am holding in my hand I won't believe it.

Son Of Zod,

I was part of the thread at HTF, and I'm wondering if you saw my post. What I was saying was that since the recalled R1 is the first version in any region to have deleted scenes, maybe this is where the ball was dropped on potential rights issues. I know it's easy to assume that the disc has been neld back twice for the same reason, but I'm guessing it was a different reason the first time.

Just a hunch here, do any of the deleted scenes contain Bill Murray? It seems like he'd be a likely candidate for playing hardball.

One review I read said that the highlight of the deleted scenes was Murray singing "Que Sera Sera" (I think it was) with a Mexican band in a meat freezer.

I actually caught the last twenty or thirty minutes last night on TV, and realized that the shot of Murray at the end, over which they put the caption "Bunny Breckenridge, despite much talk..." (etc.) is from that shot, so they probably still have rights to his image from that scene.

But ... what about the rights to the song? Either to the lyrics or to Murray's performance thereof? *That* might be a sticking point.

I've just seen an inventory list for Target, and it doesn't look like they expect to carry it on the 3rd. Just a heads-up, so nobody will waste their time going there.

The borders.com online reservation system has changed since this morning to a status of 'Not Available'.

I put a copy on hold early this morning prior to their status change - we'll see if they actually hold it.

I just called a local suncoast in FL who said they got the recall notice this morning. I'm highly doubtful that anybody will still have these come Tuesday.

First, I'm glad I could help out some fellow Jersey members.

Second, I've found no problems with this disc. It plays fine and as far as I know every special feature mentioned on the packaging is on the DVD.

Finally, The Deleted Scene with Murray singing Que Sera Sera is indeed a highlight.

Anyone finding these in Columbus, OH? I've looked at the Eastland Media Play & FYE, also the Easton BB & Wally World with no luck. I really want this disc. When it was announced I was telling my gf all about it and got her stoked to see it, now I can't get it. If anyone gets an extra copy and feels like doing a good deed drop me a line

Guys,

I tried calling the phone number that E-bay sent me for Dvdlegacy (Michael Abtibol) and all I get is a busy signal., however it sounds like the phone number is not active to me. This is not good. Here is the number for those who would like to call about there orders. (888) 451-3774. I am going to send an e-mail to get to the bottom of this because based on what I have read here and feed-back posted on his auctions I dont believe our orders have been shipped. I am going to give him until later today to contact me or I am going to contact my bank and Paypal and report this as fraud. I dont play these kind of games with e-bay sellers who take my money from my bank account, post me positive feedback, tell me they shipped my product and then keep me hanging. There website list a tracking number that doesn't even work. If anyone can get a hold of these guys please let the rest of us know what you find out. --Edward

mikerodot78,

If I was you I would fight Suncoast on this. I dont see how they can back out if you already paid for it. I have a copy prepaid at Sam Goody. If they try and back out I will fight them as I was told the copy is mine no matter what. --Edward

I just talked with dvdlegacy about our orders. For those of you who ordered Ed Wood you will not be getting it. This has been verified. They are claiming that it was all a mistake and we will be refunded. If I were you I would give them a call and let them know how you feel and ask that your money be refunded immediately., otherwise it may take a week to get your money back. Sorry guys. Its starting to look like there are going to be far less copies in circulation than we thought. I am going out in the world and try and find one on the shelf. --Edward

I checked my bank acount today and I have a pending transaction from FYE dated 01/30. Maybe they shipped mine. Although it's now removed from their site and my order number can't be found. Hmmm...

DVDLegacy just refunded my money for the dvd. Hope I can still get my hands on a copy, but I will not pay $100 for it. Eventually it will be released, of that I have no doubt; the question is just when.
