Does this mean that the commentary tracks will not be on these new releases?

I don't know for certain. They don't list any extras. Here are the links so you can get it straight from the horse's mouth.

This is way too kool. With Kill Bill and the mandatory CC dvds, April is going to be a busy month.

Oh man I can't wait for these. Cost be damned I'll live in a cardboard box as long as I can still buy these dvds

alright! I'm glad they are including the Spanish version of Dracula. I love that film. Will there really be 3 films on Disk 1 of the Dracula set?

No Mummy: The Legacy Collection? Hmm...

I think it's great that Universal is getting these back out, but strange that they would *remove* great supplements to cram so many films on.

The price is great, but those commentaries+documentaries will be sorely missed.

I am sure that The Mummy will be coming out later on, perhaps for Halloween.

Universal is moving towards low priced, digi-packaged collections on their catalog titles in a big way.

AIRPORT TERMINAL PACK
ABBOTT AND COSTELLO COLLECTION # 1
MA AND PA KETTLE # 1
MONSTER LEGACY COLLECTIONS, etc.

This is the new trend, and they are smart to do it. Of course, I'm glad I've got the original versions with extras. I guess I will have to double dip to get the previously un- released HOUSE OF DRACULA.

The one good thing is they all seem to be OAR so far.

The Mummy flicks, the Invisible flicks, the Creature sequels and the rest will follow for sure. There is no doubt, it is just a question of time.

I posted about the Frankenstein collection recently, but I didn't know the others were coming out the same day. I just might have to go for the complete set. $70 SRP for those 14 films (assuming I counted them correctly) is a GREAT deal!

I just noticed the change to their site today. I was ecstatic. I am definitely buying the Gift Set. I want all of them. I grew up with these films. I have missed them so very much.

I wonder what the figurines will look like...

It's funny, last night I was just going through the extras of my Frankenstein disc.

Looks like it'll be a classic monster year. w00t!

These are great deals, I think I'll keep my Dracula and Frankenstein discs for the extras through.

The Invisible Man series is missing as well (of course, since The Mummy and The Invisible Man are the two classics I'm missing from the original releases...thanks to a crooked eBay seller.) Still, I'll be a first-day buyer of this set, or the three individual digipaks, whichever way is cheaper (I don't care about the "collectible figurines.") Let's just hope that Univerisal has improved their DVD quality control, after all the BTTF & MPMoL problems.

Damn, I'll have to get the Dracula one for House of Dracula. Wish it had the extras.

These disks are probably being released to promote Universal's soon to be released Van Helsing.

I plan on purchasing the Dracula Legacy Collection, but I am not sure about the others.

Crap in a hat, I'm going to have to double-dip just to get "House of Dracula", like many of you fine folks. Hopefully there will be some good deals on these.

I understand that these won't actually be new transfers but identical to those already available?
As i don't own any of the Universal monster features (coupled with the fact i'm quite lazy.. ) could someone briefly mention as to how the A/V of the current releases fare?

Thanks.

It's a no go for me. I want the original 1943 Claude Rains PHANTOM OF THE OPERA and it looks like I'll just have to wait. And wait. And wait some more for Universal's re-release of their Monster collection. Which they eventually will.

I've still got all of the original Universal monster releases (except for the last two mummy double features...just not a mummy fan) and while I don't like to double dip, I'm hoping that this means that we will eventually get "Creature Walks Among Us", the various "Invisible Man" sequels, etc. Bring it on, I'll buy it!
