Just when I thought I had finally made all of my September purchases, this comes along... somewhere, someone wants me to go broke.

According to TVTome.com, here's the breakdown of the short for the first 6 episodes (frankly the only 6 worth a damn in the whole run):

Episode 1 -
Stimpy's Big Day
The Big Shot
Show Segment #1: "Log"
Show Segment #2: "What'll We Do Til Then?: 'Gritty Kitty'"

Episode 2 -
Robin Hoek
Nurse Stimpy
Show Segment #1: Powdered Toast From Preemo
Show Segment #2: The Oath
Show Segment #3: What'll We Do Til Then?: Magic Nose Goblins

Episode 3 -
Space Madness
The Boy Who Cried "Rat!"
Show Segment: "Yak Shaving Day"

Episode 4 -
Fire Dogs
The Littlest Giant
Show Segment #1: Ask Dr. Stupid - Why School?
Show Segment #2: Log for Girls
Show Segment #3: What'll We Do Til Then?: Chase Your Tail Till You're Dizzy

Episode 5 -
Marooned
Untamed World
Show Segment #1: My Little Brother Doll
Show Segment #2: Ask Dr. Stupid: One Hump or Two?
Show Segment #3: What'll We Do Til Then?: Play "Horsey" with CrocoStimpy

Episode 6 -
Black Hole
Stimpy's Invention (Quite possably the best short EVER)
Show Segment #1: "Stimpy's Breakfast Tips"
Show Segment #2: "High Fashion Log for Girls"

A quick glance over tells me that it seems that all of season 1 is present, with about half of season 2.

THANK YOU for the great news.

When I first joined DVDtalk back in 2000, one of the first threads I started was asking about Ren & Stimpy on DVD.

I honestly never thought that the original episodes that John Kricfalusi was involved in would ever get on disc, due to his leaving the show over some disagreements.

I was about to say 'just about', but then I checked an episode list. Man, I had no clue this show ran for so long... 5 seaons! Wow... looking at the episode list, it looks like I bailed after season 2. I probably saw an episode or two from Season 3, wasn't impressed, and never went back.

I had no clue there were so many non-John K. episodes made. Wow.

Anyway, I'm pretty damn happy with the contents of the set. This is a definite must-buy.

You know, I started thinking about the disc-episode count here. Now, I'm loving the fact that they finally put R&S out, but. . . .

3 discs for 6 episodes? That's like 45 min a disc. What the hell? Unless all the disc's bandwidth is sucked up by alternate versions, 3 audio commentaries and a ton of trailers, there's no reason to spread them out like this.

. . . . well, aside from increasing the disc count to boost the MSRP, that is.

I dont mind the 30 buck price tag, but I wish studios wouldnt play games like this.

Um . . . why?

With 14 shorts a disc, at BEST there's only 140 min - and I know that isnt right because Log sure as hell ain't no 10 min cartoon.

So 6 episodes in the first season, 3 discs - you do the math. Something that could EASLY fit on 2 discs was spread out over three to increase the MSRP.

I'll still buy them (sooner or later) but it sucks when the studios play us like that.

I don't think that's necessary. Looks like all the classics are here. Although, I didn't see Son of Stimpy. "He talks to farts, man".

Happy Happy Joy Joy!!!

These are all the episodes I wanted; after John K. got the boot, I pretty much stopped watching. Can't wait to see these again.

Thanks to El-Kabong for the free shipping code.

Is 'Don't Wiz on the Electrical Fence' in one of the eps included. I almost died when I saw that show. It's the show where Rem's relative visit's and hits it off with Stimpy? I don't know what the show was called.

Yes, it's in the Sven Höek episode.

It's scary that I know these so well.
