Blue Underground has trailers for all the Mondo films on their website. That should give you an idea of what to expect. They range from the tame and cheesy to the outrageously vile.

Not sure how true it is, but over on the DVD Maniacs forum they are implying that Blue Underground have fulfilled all allocations of their 10,000 'Mondo Cane' boxset with pre-orders etc....so come October 28th this may not be the easiest thing to find in your local store etc.

I am not sure what you mean by "fulfilled all allocations". This could simply mean that they have shipped the lot. At any rate, the Christopher Lee Collection only had 7500 copies and I had no trouble finding that in stores. Mondo Cane Collection is more obscure and more expensive. I doubt that you will have any problems finding it.

I don't know how difficult it will be to find, but I disagree that the Mondo Cane films are more obscure than the 4 films in the Christopher Lee collection. Mondo Cane was a huge box office hit when it was first released and spawned a whole wave of imitators. The theme music "More" was nominated for the 1963 academy award for best original song.

I think that more people are familiar with Christopher Lee, who is currently starring in Star Wars and Lord Of The Rings, than have ever heard of Mondo Cane. Most younger people have never even heard More.

Revolver

Does anyone know when and what titles are next set to price drop? If Revolver isn't one of them, does anyone know when it will drop? Thanks.

Not entirely sure..although it is strongly suggested that their Spaghetti Western Boxset will be dropped in price come the new year.

Has anyone noticed that for the first time in the history of their website Blue Underground has not posted release dates for the DVD's added to the Upcoming Releases section. They list The Girl From Rio and Sadomania, but no release date. I hope this does not bode ill. Blue Underground has had releases every month like clockwork since they began releasing product.

Well as they aren't planning on releasing titles throughout the month of November and December (as far as i'm aware anyway) maybe a release schedule may be drawn up over this period and announced giving a better indication of what we can expect and more importantly exactly when during 2004.

Why no releases during the height of holiday shopping? Is the company having financial problems?

Watched the first Mondo Cane film the other night and was very impressed with the print- video transfer. The blues and reds were fantastic when played back through component video. For a 1962 genre film BU has really delivered a deluxe treatment, can't wait to delve into the other films in the box set.

jesus....I love buying as many dvds a week as I can, but if they dont release anything over the holidays...thats fine. have they not done well enough? give the guys a break. they dont release for a few months and people are ready to throw in the towell for them. I need a break on all these dvds anyway...I'm buying 10 a week and need to slow down...not speed up. BU is doing just fine...and they have freaks like me buying EVERYTHING they put out.

Well, January 27 is the next time Blue Underground will release new titles. Sadomania and The Girl From Rio are the films. Who is looking forward to these?

Well looks like i'm going to be buying BU titles at the end of February at the earliest then as these two hold no appeal to me...am looking forward to Final Countdown the Blind Dead boxset and also seeing which Argento releases they are rumoured to be releasing so eagerly await as to their intentions of scheduling for the early part of 2004.

The Final Countdown now appears to be scheduled for 23 March. I am uncertain what else might be released on that day or what Blue Underground may release in February.

Has there been any news about what else will be released in March with The Final Countdown? I have been scouring the internet and have yet to find anything.

I noticed that Uncle Sam is slated for release next year from Blue Underground. I have never seen this one. Is it a good gorefest?

I have the Elite release of Uncle Sam - It's an average flick (In my opinion) - not great but not terrible either. I haven't watched it in a while, but I don't remember it being overly Gory.
