Purchased 'Daredevil' today
Well, as I said I purchased this movie today and it's a two disc extravaganza. I've never seen the movie before and I have mixed feelings on how good I think it was. But the movie itself, the quality was good. the menu's aren't really that impressive, not in my own opinion. The insert on the inside could have been more. It's just one of those flaps that opens up and mostly has chapter listings and such. But anyways, if you like the movie it's a good buy.

Crap! Didn't know there was to be a director's cut.
Now to decide on whether to buy this one or wait. Hmmmm

Yeah, I think they filmed it with an R rating in mind, but trimmed some back to get the PG13 rating. This is what is rumored to be in the DC when, and IF it ever comes out

Im getting the one on release date.
If they do release a DC, it better contain totally different extras! But ive heard this DVD is so packed, people dont know what other extras they could possibly make for a DC

One of my most anticipated discs of the past couple months...can't wait!
I'll have ta get both if this DC ever comes out...my kids can't see an R flick, and this 'PG-13' was bit rough for them already.
But we are all DareDevil fans, and this will get screened a LOT more than Spiderman does in our household.

The director keeps in touch with fans every so often at the Superherohype.com forums. Just about a week ago, he said he's about done with the DC, but Fox will proabably wait until the Elektra sequel in 2005 to release it.

I read this on a forum (don't remember which one) and pasted in an email to a friend a few days ago. This is from the director (supposedly):
On 7-16-03:
"I'm sitting on the mixing stage right now, finishing the Director's Cut. It's 35 minutes of additional footage (nearly 1/3 of the theatrical running time). Thank God for DVD. It will be up to you to decide if it's indeed better or not, but rest assured it's a very different version of the movie. No release date is set yet, they may wait and use it to kick off the Elektra movie. But know that it is definitely being done and it will indeed include everything that was cut from the theatrical release. There is the murder case that Matt and Foggy take, lots of courtroom drama, Matt's own investigation into the case, heaps 'o violence, and the Kingpin gets to show why he's such a bad ass. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long!"

I got this disc a couple days ago, and regardless of what you think of the actual film (I personally think it's just okay), this could very well be one of the best dvd sets out there. The video is absolutely reference material and the audio is even better. I have never heard better surround action than on this disc. The DTS booms and sound incredible.
The extars are all solid and better than the actual film (which really doesn't say much). If you're a comic book fan, you will totally geek out on the hour long feature that interviews all the big names associated w/ Daredevil. It includes people like Stan Lee, Frank Miller, Kevin Smith and a host of others. There is also a great hour long documentary on the making of the film that is nothing but really cool behind-the-scenes stuff. It has the actors joking around w/ each other (Michael Clark-Duncan seems so cool and Garner is so freaking hot) on the set. And it also has a bunch of out-takes and scenes that did not make it into the final film. This is one of the better making-ofs I have seen.
This is not lame filler material like the Spiderman disc.
