well, I liked Daredevil in the theaters.. it wasnt great but it was good and enjoyable... still.. I'll wait for the directors cut I think. Some people dont like EEs... but I don't think Ive seen one yet that I enjoyed less than the original film. <shrugs> I dunno, maybe I've just been lucky and havent seen a bad DC yet.

Getting back to daredevil... I know when i was watching it on the big screen, i got the impression that the director was moving right along... a little bit too much IMO. With the extra footage put back in, maybe the pacing/story would better for me....

Im really excited about this disc and am looking forward to it arriving, especially by some of the comments made here. About the DC, sounds interesting if true, but like others have said I wont be holding my breath for it to come anytime soon.

I'll buy this one. Still no concrete evidence other than third-and-fourth-hand rumors that there will actually be another release of a "director's cut" (sorry, I don't trust posts from "some" chat board that is "supposedly" the director's words anymore)... I'm still waiting for the "2 1/2 hour X-Men director's cut" we were told about several years ago...

you know, I bought this as a blindbuy, and I enjoyed it very much. However, I am clueless on all this hype on Garner. She looked fine in the trailers, but while watching the film, I realize she has a killer body, but her face, especially on the ad banner of daredevil that pops up everywhere, she looks kind of ragged, and in recent candid photos, looks completele different than what she does on ALIAS, not hot at all, as she looks like a burnette version of Penelope Ann Miller, unlike charlize theron, who takes no bad photos.

Hopefully Costco will come through with a $14.99 price so I can pick it up for $9.99. I for one can't wait. The uber geek inside me demands I own this movie .

FYI I saw a copy sitting on a shelf in the EB at the Solomon Pond Mall in MA. It was kind of odd, as there was no shrink wrap on the DVD, yet there was a security tape at the top, and the discs were clearly inside the case. I already pre-ordered mine, so I didn't pay it much attention or ask the clerk about it, but I was still surprised to see it.

How do you know the discs were inside if there was security tape on it? EB uses display cases quite often to attract pre-orders.

In answer to "where you you buying it before release date?"

Amazon.com shipped my copy on the 20th. Seeing as I'm in Japan it has not arrived yet, but I expect it today. It takes 7 days shipping time 99% of the time, and today is day 8, so it certainly should be here in today's mail.

I quite regularly get my DVDs a couple of days before release date from Amazon.com.

It does sound like a great DVD and I like many comic book based movies, but I can't get myself to buy this because I though it blew. All the recent Marvel comic book movies have been much better (Spider-Man, X-Men 2, Hulk).

Though I definitely don't find her hot (though I'd never call her repulsive, either), I thought she was great as Elektra! I really hope the spin-off does her justice.

BYW, will she also be in the sequel to Daredevil or just the spin-off. I hope it's both so not only can they bridge the gap (Elektra-wise) between Daredevil and Daredevil 2 but we get to see Garner kick much more ass than she did in the first movie.

Well I guess I don't know for sure, but it felt heavy enough to have two discs inside. Unless it's got an unusually heavy insert, I'd say both discs were in there.

I took the lack of any deleted or extended scenes on the 2-disc version as a sign there will definitely be a DC coming. They just aren't going to announce it until all you double-dippers have bought the original.

From page 1 of this thread:

"I'm sitting on the mixing stage right now, finishing the Director's Cut. It's 35 minutes of additional footage (nearly 1/3 of the theatrical running time). Thank God for DVD. It will be up to you to decide if it's indeed better or not, but rest assured it's a very different version of the movie. No release date is set yet, they may wait and use it to kick off the Elektra movie. But know that it is definitely being done and it will indeed include everything that was cut from the theatrical release. There is the murder case that Matt and Foggy take, lots of courtroom drama, Matt's own investigation into the case, heaps 'o violence, and the Kingpin gets to show why he's such a bad ass. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long!"

Andrea, I was responding to the people who talked about that not being reliable info and no date being announced.

hes probably comparing her to other hot actresses. hell if she was in a bar as a regular chick, shed be probably by far the hottest one there.

however, compared to other HOT actresses she isnt a '10'.

i think she is hot but i can see where hes coming from. compare garner to carmen electra and she doenst look so hot anymore.

what is attractive is all personal opinion... i just think its a joke when i see some guy whos one of those weirdo-scary pot bellied doomed to be single forever types saying "oh man, that (insert the name of a centerfold quality woman here) is just NASTY, (insert name of different centerfold quality chick here) is sooo much hotter... whoa man..."....(scratching belly, adjusting self, using the farmer hankey) "hey man, u want another beer?" Not saying the original poster was/is like that, Im speaking generally... I see it allll the time.

She is OK, but definetly not a super mega hottie some claims. I think Jessica Alba, Julia Stiles, Mandy Moore , Brigit Moyahan, Josie Davis , Angelina Jolie (until she starts talking!), Chrisma Carpenter, Sarah Michelle gellar, Eliza Dushka , Kim Basinger and Pam Anderson (back then) is prettier. Garner was on a cover of some magazine recently, and looked like Gillian Anderson (who is pretty, but not mega hottie).

I liked Carmen, but is it me, or did her sillicone gotten bigger? I do find her amusing though, what Premiere magazine once said about her "Most famous for doing absolutely nothing!" (

Just so you guys know, Fox Home Entertainment Newsletter e-mailed its subscribers with a link to a $5 coupon towards the purchase of Daredevil on DVD. It really helpedme cosmy localK-Mart was going to sell the DVD for about $22. Some of the employees told me that they were going to drop the price to $19.99 a week later and that's why they were hard at work removing the price tags. Fortunately I scored a copy with the $19.99 label intact and the store honoured the price (cos they have a policy of giving you difference back if a sale on the same item should happen within a week of your purchase) AND accepted the coupon.

It looks and sounds great! The special features were top notch too!

Now all I gotta do is wait for the director's cut.
