It's funny. Thanks to your post I think I should take back my comment of Jennifer Garner not being hot because I find none of those women you listed (except maybe pre-surgery Pamela Anderson) even so much as close to being more attractive than her.

Since this got bumped back to the front page I'll chime in and say that this was a great blind buy for me. Affleck was good, Ferrell was great, and the CG wasn't as bad as everyone said. (still wasn't great, though) Solid Comic book movie. Also, it has the best transfer I've ever seen (except for maybe some all-CG films) when a DVD looks this good, packs on the extras (including full commentary) you really have to wonder why Superbit titles can't do the same thing...
BTW, I bought this at Hastings for 19.99, it came with two free rentals (not on old stuff, its good for anything) so I can see if Solaris is worth buying and maybe Spider, then when i open DD it has 5 bucks off of XMEN 1.5, which I still haven't bought....Daredevil for 8 bucks....Sweet!

Excellent supplements on this disc. I enjoyed the movie despite the godawful rock soundtrack, but the supplements pushed me over. Spent a very enjoyable hour watching the hourlong Daredevil comics documentary last night, which was great, even a comics fanboy like me learned a lot from it (such as that overrated [in comics that is] Kevin Smith shouldn't commit to writing comics until he can make a deadlins, but then again I already knew that... )

Man, it took me two hours to watch the hour long documentary. And don't get me started on the show 60 Minutes.

Nobody looks good all the time, but hey, there is no pleasing some people.

I met JG once and I always thought she looked great on Alias, I figured though.. meeting someone in person you would be able to notice more flaws and they wouldn't look as good....nope not the casehere, perfect :P

I watched the movie last night and I have to admit: Cheesy movie or not, it just became my new audio reference disc to show off what a good 5.1 mix can sound like. The best enveloping soundstage I've heard on a disc, without coming across as gimmicky. Right up there if not surpassing TFotR:EE in audio.

The acting/CGI/plot/cinematography/editing on the other hand...

Yes, I have and she does absolutely nothing for me there. That's why I was suprised to find out afterward that she was the same girl I was drooling over in Idle Hands. I don't even like her in Never Been Kissed. There's just something about her in every scene she appears in Idle Hands that I find in nowhere else (not even in magazine shoots) but that one movie. So to me it's a fluke and I don't consider her a hottie if the attraction has never repeated itsellf in anything outside of that one movie.

What? of her in Never Been Kissed (she's mostly in the background or groups shots in this one) or Idle Hands? I have pics of neither (would be kinda weird if I did if I say I don't think the girl is all that). I'm not saying she's hideous. I'm just saying that sense of "WOW!" you guys get when looking at her is just not there for me.

I wanna see the Idle Hands pics! I think Garner would kick her ass in both looks and in a fight.

Oh! Well there you and I agree! Garner rocked so much in Daredevil that I can't wait for summer 2005 to see Elektra. She looked good too. My only complaint was during the party. They pushed up her breasts so much that it made her look ridiculous. Which is too bad cos would have been the first time I'd been drooling at the very sight of her. But there was the training sequence. Seems DD will only have an over-glorified cameo in that one since the focus is all on her and the Honk Kong action team is scheduled to work with them since day one so it seems Garner will get to kick some serious as in that film!

As for the Idle Hands pics, I'll see what I can find. But I make no promises.

Was I the only one who caught Robert Iller's cameo (AJ from the sopranos), as one of the bullys.

I would say no but, in my case, I'd be lying. I don't watch the Sopranos but his cameo was pointed out in the audio commentary and the text commentary of the DVD.

Did anyone else notice the deleted footage featured in the second DVD and also video of deleted scenes being filmed (like Matt Murdock TRYING to drive a car)?

while we're on the subject, how is the commentary anyway, it seems interesting, mentioning the cameos and mentioning deleted scene's and the scene's in this version that will not be in the directors cut

I was pretty good. They mention the cameos of Collin Farrell's sister (one is over the phone so I didn't know it was her since I'dnever heard her voice but I did spot her in the bar when I saw it in theatres ). They mention a lot of the antics that went on and point out that in the bar fight DD's suit is black instead of red because at one point the execs at Fox were worried that DD would be confused for Spider-Man. They give the deleted scenes a passing mention and some that appear on the second disc (like Matt trying to drive the car) aren't even mentioned in passing. It was a coolcommentary. Both entertaining and informative. They also make a John Landis joke that maay be found tasteless to some who hear it since they were discussing a risky stunt Garner did without the aid of a safety net. Also, they laugh about some pidgeons and if you watch the hour long documentary in the movie section of disc two you'll laugh too. I highly recommend the audio commentary but can only recommend the text commentary if you watch it at the same time as you listen to the audio commentary (like I did) because the text info is very few and doesn't add alot.

Oh and both commentaries point out that Kane (is it with a "k" or a "c"?) Hodder is in the film.

I'm guessing the deleted footage shown isn't as good as hopefully it will be soon via dc.

You guess correctly since the scenes swon were either from an AVID workprint or video tape footage of the crew filming said deleted scenes.

In the audio commentary the director mentions one scene (that you can see the green screen version of it in the second disc), of which a portion appears in one of the trailers, that I am sure will not be in the director's cut. When the camera closes on the eyes of the stained glass of the virgin it was meant to transition to the blind woman statue (justice) in the courtroom and then transition to Matt Murdock. The director felt it would be better to have it transition to the sensory depravation tank as a sort of "birthing" sequence. He alsomentions how Matt originally left Elektra in the rain to chace after a guy beating up his son. They changed it to Matt staying with Elektra and kept the footage of DD beating up the guy ("I'm not the bad guy") but pushed it to earlier in the film and added a new intro where the guy was beating up somebody who owd money to the Kingpin. Also when Matt was with Elektra in the rain, the dialogue he overhears was changed to mention the Kingpin and you aslo hear the would-be mugger run from his attacker before Matt stays with Elektra. This last part (of the audio) is not mentioned in the commentary but I noticed it when I listened to what exactly Matt was hearing.

About the sex scene, did you notice the scars on Matt's back have all disappeared when he rolls over to let Elektra on top?

I find this funny cos in the audio commentary the director is talking abouthow important it was forhim when they are noticing each other's scars but he fails to notice this big blooper.

Though, to his credit, he does note some bloopers I totally missed.

Not great but these are the best I could do for now:

This last one sucks but it's also from (behind the scenes footage of) Idle Hands so....

I'll see if I can do better but, as you know, she's not someone I go out of my way to find pics of so I appologize if what I add aint great.

ADDITIONS:

In case it doesn't show up: http://www.jessica-alba.ws/pics/new/idlehands03.jpg

Sorry it's only two more but it's next to impossible to find a site that has good scans of her in that movie (they're all too dark). I guessyou'll just have to catch it on TV. I think USA keeps airing it. Not much but it's something, unless you choose to rent it.

I actually didn't see the "lets compare scars" angle, when I first saw it in theaters, but now I kind of see that.
I'm surprised that Fox didn't put any parental warning about the language on the commentary (they put a warning on the family guy dvd)
