Scarface specs

Also finally revealed are the full specs for Scarface: Anniversary Edition. This Brian De Palma camp classic also streets on September 30th and will be available in both remastered anamorphic widescreen and full screen versions with Dolby Digital 5.1 surround tracks. Extras include the featurettes "The Rebirth of Scarface," "Acting Scarface" and additional interview footage presented by Def Jam featuring today's hottest music stars commenting on how Scarface has influenced their life and music, plus a comparison between the R-rated and TV versions. Other extras include stills and trailers. Retail is $24.95. Universal will also release a special limited edition box set called the Scarface Deluxe Gift Set, which also includes the complete 1932 version of Scarface and collectible packaging. Retail is $59.95.

So the amazing docu from the 1st release won't be on this right? So I will buy the new release and keep the old one for the 1 hour documentary then.

I know my laserdisc did.

Can you imagine people buying the full screen of this movie?

Oh man. Why did we need the Def Jam thing on there? How did a movie about a Cuban druglord influence rap music?

Tupac and Biggie are probably the result of Scarface.

Yep, that's a character I'd like to pattern my life after!
"Gee willikers, ma, I'm gonna grow up to be just like that there Scarface!"

I guess those two guys emulated it right to the end, eh?

I wonder if they are going to do an actual full restoration, or just a clean up.

To be perfectly honest, I thought the first documentary was a little outdated so it will be refreshing to see what kind of new stuff they have on the re-release. I highly doubt if they were able to get the cast back together but we will see. Can somebody confirm this that De Palma wanted nothing to do with the Scarface re-release?

Actually...i thought the first documentary was WAY too short and figured they'd still include it.

I also figured they'd include the deleted scenes that were in the TV version but not in that first DVD as well.

HUGE disappointment.
