And all of this will be crammed on one disc
They just don't want to give this movie the best picture quality possible, do they. I really wish they would leave off the DTS track on this 3 hour movie with extras and French and Spanish monos. Can you say "compression artifacts"?

I understand it is very, very difficult for Universal to do a DVD right, but this is ridiculous. No excuse for not having two discs!!!

Hopefully they'll announce that deleted scenes and the old documentary are included.

I don't know how MTV/Paramount would feel about allowing Universal to put out all of the seasons of Cribs out on DVD, since pretty much every episode of the show features a rap artist who either discusses the DVD or shows off his/her shrine devoted to the film.

So wait...

We're saying a movie that's 210 minutes long is going to have a DTS track in addition to the other audio tracks PLUS some featurettes and it MAY look good???

Guess that's a definite "no" on the documentary and deleted scenes.

Now we'll get people on MTV cribs that brag about having BOTH versions.

The movie is only 170 minutes, but that really doesn't change anything. It would be a shame if they didn't include the documentary on the new disc. Although, I can't say that I'm too surprised with the specs. I've come to expect this treatment from Universal.

Why no doc?

So sad...so sad...

Digital...sorry i wasn't more clear...the European release of the DVD contained more deleted scenes than the first R1 version did.

The film is the same.

Did the two part tv release contain deleted scenes that didn't make the original theatrical release? If so, which scenes. Thanks.

OK wait...back up. The first release of the DVD in r1 had deleted scenes. HOWEVER, the deleted scenes were not ALL of the scenes in the TV version AND they were not put back into the movie.

Are you saying that the deleted scenes in the European version had even MORE than the R1 version? Cause if so, this is the first I'm hearing of it.

The one scene that was most notably absent from the DVD (that I can remember) was towards the beginning where tony is staring at the TV and the camera zooms in on his face. Not a big moment but always loved the look of it since I saw that version first.

I dunno if it was on the R2 DVD, but the older Euro video release had a slightly extended chainsaw murder, which I don't think was ever released in the US. I honestly don't remember if the TV scenes were also included, since I haven't seen that version in quite some time.

I've heard that there were more deleted scenes included as extas in the European version of Scarface DVD than the American DVD.

These were only extras and do the best of my knowledge not included in the cut of the film.

Great. The DTS fiends (On a movie that doesn't even need it) killed the specs on yet another DVD.

Once again, at risk of repeating myself, I cannot believe they are going to put ALL of that material on one disc! This picture is still going to look like horse*****. Yes, probably better than the original release, but still.
