I have a quick question for you guys. Some of you mention that you didn't like T2 or liked T1 better. I do have both on DVD (T1: SE, and T2 : UE) and I enjoy both tremendously but I like T2 better. The special effects are far better and it seemed to be better paced, especially towards the end. In T1 where he's chasing them just doesn't have the seem feel. I'm not trying to start a flame fight here, but I'm just wondering why you guys thought T1 was superior?

cactusoly 06-07-03 01:55 PM

the thing I hated most about T2 is the fact that the moment The T-800 was melted, John Conner should have no longer existed. If there was no more Reese would have never come to the past to impregnate Sara in the 1st place. Hopefully this will be resolved in T3.

There is a clip on the second disc where they advertise the ultimate edition. Can you believe that?

Vision Society 06-07-03 04:56 PM

I tend to support these double dipping as long as the new version is a favorite of mine and the new version does improve the movie/movie viewing process. So no doubt, I bought this version as well.

Once Reese went back to the past, there's an alternate universe from the one he's from. This was explained pretty well in Back to the Future. So that's why Conner isn't dead.

T2 on DVD has become like the Star Wars Trilogy was on VHS... I own the one I'm happy with (UE in T2's case) and don't feel like upgrading. After the 1st SE release of Star Wars I vowed not to buy another until DVD.

Although I don't own T1, I feel that it is a better movie. To me T2 is a better DVD(The UE) than it is a movie.

I feel that T2 is just really flawed. Alot of your arguments you have about T1, I have about T2.

T2 is a popcorn movie, while T1 isn't.

Passed. Completely satisfied with the UE.

darkside 06-07-03 07:33 PM

Wasn't buying a mediocre movie twice. Passed on the EE.

danwiz 06-07-03 09:41 PM

me too - passed! UE is good enough for me. Gee, sounds like most people passed. This one isn't going to make a million for the studio it seems!

jasonnaper 06-07-03 10:28 PM

not for me...

D-Ball 06-08-03 01:27 AM

I'm happy with the UE. Artisan got a little bit ahead of themselves when they called the last version the Ulimate Edition. They should have gone with collector's or special edition if they were going to have another release. I believe the only thing left after Extreme would be the Ludicrous Edition.

Class316 06-08-03 01:50 AM

To make millions out of another release they should have put all UE edition extras, all EE extras, the guns and roses music video, and have a new transfer. Then maybe there would have been hope.

samuelowens 06-08-03 02:01 AM

Although 'tis currently the season for double dipping round here (The Right Stuff for extras, Casablanca for extras, Trainspotting for DTS and extras), T2 is not on that list because the UE was fine and what you gain in the picture, you lose in the sound.

I've got other DVDs I want...

horseflesh 06-08-03 04:20 AM

For those of you with Multi-Region players (shame on you if you don't), there's a 4-Disc set coming in France next month, WITH dts:

I didn't see the need to double-dip for this once. The UE was/is fine for me.

Dah-Dee 06-09-03 03:03 PM

I passed, have the UE and am happy with it.

Pants 06-09-03 03:29 PM

I passed on it too.

lpetschauer 06-09-03 06:37 PM

Never seen any of the Terminator movies and have no desire to.

So, I didn't buy it.

johndoe8 06-09-03 06:48 PM

I wouldn't take it for free.

I love my UE Tin

FuzzyBallz 06-09-03 07:14 PM

No thank you. Watching T2 in the theatres on opening day and 50+ times on cable did it for me.

BRAISKI 06-09-03 07:19 PM

I got this because it is my best movie, I do have the T2 UE with the metal case but this is another for my collection :) with a metal case, I know I don't have a HD TV but may be one of these days I will :)
Well with this the requirements fot playing it in the computer ask for so much!!!

purplechoe 06-09-03 11:44 PM

I'm straight with my 2 disc UE witha smooth DTS track.

I think Cameron would disagree with this statement. :)
