Re: Black Friday 2011 - The DVD thread

I just remembered to try GG S4 at 12:40 and it does say that it's Sold Out and the Wait List is full. Which is possible. Sometimes certain LD can have thousands of people interested in them. But I didn't check before then, so maybe there was something else going on that I didn't see? Idk. sorry.

Yup, was instantly claimed. I joined the waiting list, and after the time ran out, amz told me I had to join again. Grrr

Re: Black Friday 2011 - The DVD thread

I'm annoyed that I got up just to find out it went live before it's alloted time and for more than they said. Was it the same for Bruno, Hot Tub Time Machine, etc. because all those deals have a join waitlist as well and I don't think they all be claimed a half hour after the deal starts?

The Gossip Girl thing is irking me at the moment too. I actually set my alarm to get up to grab this deal. It was gone in a freaking instant. I'm on the waitlist but am doubtful that I'll get it. I might just grab it from one of the Marketplace sellers for $21 and change.

Re: Black Friday 2011 - The DVD thread

I was up when they started and they all started on time. I got GG S4 but was charged $12.99 instead of the $7.99 shown on the deal calendar. GG S4 sold out in a couple minutes btw.

Same here. I acutally visited the DVD page before the start time because none of the deals were counting down and that's where I saw the $12.99 lightning deal going on so I joined the waitlist.

Re: Black Friday 2011 - The DVD thread

I did see the countdown and was on it as soon as it started. When the deal first went up, it was $7.99. By the time I finally got somewhere on the page, it was $12.99 and waitlisted. There are quite a few complaints on the Amazon forums about this whole issue. So, it's not just us.

I missed it too, although I was expecting it to be $7.99 as stated on the calendar.

On the bright side, it'll be $7.99 (or less) next year.

I can wait.

Use the Black Friday Deals are Here link on the upper left of any page (or the one I put on the name) to get to them. S4 is already on "waitlist" status...

They've had major issues with hot items and Lightning Deals for the past few years. They even changed the rules on how they work to get around the issues and problems people were having. I've actually made sure to alreadyb e logged in, clicked on the link as soon as it's come up and immediately gone through checkout only to have the item pulled at verification or show up at the *non* LD price even though it was correct in the cart. Sometimes I feel it's as much a racket as so called "door busters".

Gossip Girl 4 officially sold out, just got a pop up. Screw it, just canceled 1-3, and will just wait for a complete series down the road.

I caved and ordered it from a Marketplace seller. At least now I can say I woke up at 3:30 in the morning and got something out of it. And now, I'm back off to bed.

I just live chatted with amazon and the lady said it's being rescheduled . She was unsure of the time but said it should be in a couple of hours and they'll reupdate the schedule.

Re: Black Friday 2011 - The DVD thread

For me... Gossip Girl S4 went live at the exact time it was supposed to and it started out at $12.99.. I ordered it anyway as that is a good deal on that new release even if I couldn't get an adjustment ... I chatted with Amazon and was able to get a $5 credit to offset the $12.99 I paid for it... so in the end it was $7.99...

Re: Black Friday 2011 - The DVD thread

Got home about an hour ago.
(it's 4:14am here)

Man, I'm tired.

Took home a nice load.

Wal-Mart:
24: S8 (ten bucks, awesome deal), The A-Team, Clash Of The Titans, Devil and The Time Traveler's Wife. I saw no copies of "Easy A". Oh well.

Target:
Pretty Little Liars: S1 and Psych: S1.

If I can, I'm going to go to a different Wal-Mart; pick up that flash card memory and stuff.

Re: Black Friday 2011 - The DVD thread

There were a few unadvertised TV sets at Target, if anyone wants to fight the crowds:

Parenthood S1 7.99
The Big C S1 7.99
Pretty Little Liars S1 12.99
The Good Wife S1 12.99
Roseanne S1 and S2 3.99 each (the new Mill Creek versions)

Re: Black Friday 2011 - The DVD thread

I placed an Amazon order for Ninja Turtles movies BLU $33, Blade Runner five disc BLU $24, Volver BLU $11.

Not BARGAINS but still decent prices.

Re: Black Friday 2011 - The DVD thread

Well, that was weird. According to the Amazon BF schedule, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 was supposed to be $6.99 from 4:30am to 8:30am PST (7:30am to 11:30am EST), I went there to buy it and it was still listed for $13.99 in my cart. Went to the BF front page that's posted on page 3 (Post #52), clicked on the link for Deathly Hallows (for $6.99), and it says it's a "Lightning Deal" price that expires in 13 and ½ minutes???

Oh well, I got it for $6.99 anyway. -kd5-

Me too.

After receiving confirmation of my order, I received another email telling me that as a special gift with my purchase, I also got a free VOD of it. Might be nice for someone who cares, I certainly don't. -kd5-

i wish amazon would send out spies to the store, who could report these prices back and they would PM them. Would love Pretty liars at 12.99 but i fear for my life in those piranha pits in-store.
