Last weekend the sign was still those solar thingies. Thanks for the update all!! I'll keep you posted.

When I found my display yesterday, the front window still advertised the solar gadgets.

Thanks for the posts (especially to Strapped4Cash; that was a lot of work!).

Nothing I want, but I really appreciate the lists.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Went to three stores today.

One of them had none.

Picked up...

Better Living Through Chemistry
Bunraku
Eagle, The: Unrated
Far And Away
Hamlet 2
Hell On Wheels: S3
Open Road
Ondine
Stretch

And a bunch of "Dukes Of Hazard" (movie) full screen for their cases. I now only have four left. So many in my collection needed case replacements. All the movies above were mint, I was glad.

Saw no copies of "Equilibrium" or "Being John Malkovich" or "Starship Troopers".

Did see copies of "Bring It On: Fight To The Finish".

Question, drmar35mm. Did your copy of "Equilibrium" come with the chapter insert?

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

I'm now opening the Previously Viewed ones... I'm not at all pleased. They're pitted, scuffed, scraped, poorly repaired, etc. Some are shiny and new looking, but those are by far the minority.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

I went by a 2nd location today. I noticed several more with previously viewed stickers on the back. Seems like they were always on the more mainstream titles. I didn't buy any, but I recall the trendsource label having a phone number and guaranteeing satisfaction or something of the sort. Wonder what would happen if you called?

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

A few that have not been mentioned:

Black November
The Dilemma
Hanna's Gold
High Fidelity
Kate & Leopold
A Little Game
Luck Number Slevin
Matrix Revolutions
Monte Carlo
Perfect Man
The Pink Panther (Steve Martin)
River King

The poster outside mentioned Love Happens, The Dilemma, Meet the Fockers, and Automata.

Also, as an FYI, Ocean's 13 is FULL SCREEN.

My thoughts were if they sold the discs to Dollar Tree for less than $1.00 each, they've washed their hands of them. The # on it is 800-279-1608 (Trendsource.) I know I can make Dollar Tree take back the destroyed discs (honestly unplayable) but I do wonder if Trendsource is even still in business.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Damn.

Would picked up if seen...

Blue Crush 2
Hemingway (w/slipcover)

By the way, Dimitrios3; "Automata" is a solid sci-fi film.

Out of curiosity, what kind of case was it? I saw DoH, too, and noticed it was heavier than the others. I am looking for some older replacement cases, but wasn't going to buy something blindly, even for a buck.

BTW, I don't usually indulge these Dollar Tree sales, in part because I can never seem to time it right, and in part because my real wants list is too long to bother with lots of blind buys. But this time around I did stumble on the new inventory and availed myself of "Patlabor 2 The Movie" and "Welcome to Sweden" (2 disks). Good enough for me!

The Warner Bros. cases are good. There are two different ones. The standard two halfs of a circle that you push to pop out. And the one I much prefer is the one that looks like four small arrows pointed to the center. This cases have more room for larger inserts, no crunching.

You can tell the two by shaking it. If you hear some rattling, it's the two half nub. If you shake and hear nothing it's the arrow nub.

This also applies to Sony titles as well.

Yes, I am that anal.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

My local store put out their stock in recent days. They also put up the four-movie DVD posted with Meet the Fockers. Why can they not stock in a timely manner?! Grrr... Most was stuff I'd already seen/owned/purchased.

Here were the new ones I picked up (all pre-owned, and I too am anal. I really hate opening "new" movies and seeing fingerprints and smears.)

Belly of the Beast (almost passed this one up thinking it was a workout video lol)
Chocolat
Dan in Real Life
Definitely, Maybe
Pineapple Express
Puddle Cruiser
Thumbelina

And Ebay sellers who don't know what 'like new' means.

Does not mean - 'it plays'.

Nope, nothing extra in the box. But I believe it was one of the used disks.

I was out and about this morning and figured what the heck. The front table had maybe 100 copies, lots of duplicates. I picked up:

Fletch Lives
Triple Action Feature Volume 1 - XIII: The Conspiracy/JCVD/Brotherhood (Blu-Ray)
Opus N' Bill in A Wish For Wings That Work

Picked up Echoes of War and A Serious Man. Almost got Far & Away, but then remembered I have the Blu Ray.

Or "I opened it and took the digital copy code sheet out and re-sealed it so therefor it's new". I stopped buying anything with a digital copy from ebay since an abnormal amount of them were missing code sheets.

I figure if the listing mentions it, I have every right to complain when it's not included. I mean, when I list something for sale, I'm careful that the description matches the item. eBay folks hate the pending threat of (deserved) negative/neutral feedback.

On that note, I've been pleasantly shocked with included codes just as often as I was cheated out of them. Those sellers earned and received stellar praise.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

I find it odd that the closest Dollar Tree to me never gets these, but I spotted some in other locations. Nothing that really piqued my interest, but I grabbed After The Fall (DVD) and Dawn Of The Dragon Slayer (BluRay/DVD/DC) as blind buys.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

You may also have a reseller close to that store. I used to be one & I'd clean out the bargains (though much more so at Big Lots in their glory days)
