Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Picked up...
"Diana" with fashion book insert; "Warning Shot" with slip; "Ghosthunter" with slip; "The Domestics"; "Awake", "Greed In The Sun" - an Olive title and "The Keeping Room" with reversable wraparound and insert. For just cases picked up... "The Blue Planet: Seas Of Life"; "Gothic Harvest"; "Radioflash"; "Top Cat"; "Mission To The Moon"; "Nazi Overlord"; "Twilight: New Moon"; "Benson: Season One" - Mill Creek and "Losers/Rock N Rolla: Double Feature". I did okay. Gonna try for a third store. |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
One of the better DVD finds this time around for me was the MGM double feature - What's The Matter With Helen? and Whoever Slew Auntie Roo.
I haven't seen it mentioned by anyone, might have been one of those rare mix-ups that occasionally slips into the usual Dollar Tree inventory. |

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Slew/Roo was a pretty decent Hansel/Gretel re-imagining.
I watched "Helen" for one of the October Challenges here and, well, it wasn't very much Horror. Until the very final shot, maybe. |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I had a trip planned out of state this week and stopped by 3-4 stores on my route. Each one had a small number of things on the front table or in another area of the store. Despite the limited selection, I still found things which were new to me:
DVD The Angry Beavers: Season 1 & 2 The Death of Superman The Office: Second Series (BBC) BD Cheap Thrills Conan O'Brien Can't Stop Greed in the Sun Norman Lear: Just Another Version of You Red vs Blue: Season 10 Super Bowl XLIII Champions: Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl LI Champions: New England Patriots I own a few of those BDs from previous waves, but on DVD. |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Wish was able hit places here but budget and other hassles make me wait till can get any.
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Went to the local DT today. They had a ton of no name dvd's & a few no name blu's. The only title I would have spent $1 on if I didn't already own it was Christina Vicki Barcelona. Also had the Top Cat Movie & a Justin Bieber concert. Nothing else I've heard of. While there were quite a few dvd's, I was told they were several weeks old.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Okay.
I buy the stuff from certain studios just for their cases. I've picked the stuff I wanted, would like more, but the stuff I want is gone. Thanks for the info MooMooMooMoo. |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Yea, if others get to the box before traffic then i guess alot of the gold is gone already. it is either workers or store workers call or text to say got in and then those who get call or text get first dibs kinda. it sux theis happens but it does from seeing videos on youtube sometimes. i have in past got to store close by early and scored some gold and otehr times i late and get any i want at time. so if ever i go now it hit or miss i score a gold so to speak. i just glad we are one of many who do get media by chance cause i have read tsome do not for any reason. and so i guess it why from videos stores get alot box anytime. i may try go but i dont expect gold but shocked if i find any i real want at time. it cause when u already got so much u dont expect more anytime.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Was able to get the following DVDs from 2 stores:
The Office (BBC): The Complete Second Series Ocean Odyssey (BBC Video) Batman (Animated) Triple Feature Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay The Last Days on Mars Bakugan Battle Planet Origin of Species Extreme Bears (BBC Video) I really like the BBC Video Nature Documentaries - I probably now have 10 of them from different Dollar Tree purchases. |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
If had a car then i might run around to other stores but only live close to 1 really and not able walk as much as before cause med reasons, so i glad i get what i can at once so not waste time try score more from other stores. and got a 99 cent store close by so it not bad even if it a buck more at time. any where else it more then 2 if any i wanna go at time. so i know where to go if wanna save and they got any i really want at time.
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
"The Last Days On Mars" was decent.
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
2 of the 3 stores I stopped at had some new stuff out as part of their front display. Nothing I was really excited about.
Did purchase a few DVDs, mostly some horror stuff: The Clovehitch Killer The Eye of my Mother Parades End (BBC) You Must Be the Killer |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Yea, had chance go and see a setup in front with alot media. got a nice mix cause had any blu ray and dvd combo to grab i really wanted any at time. then scored a nice 19 movie mix with Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris and Steven Seagal any in the collection any. so was a good mix so i good for now so wait another month to get any if can at time.
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Okay - stupid question.
Did they put out new titles? You know what I mean. |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
From what i saw there was new stuff. and guessing store get a mix of stuff but not sure all stores get a wave at same time so if u see old stuff or old titles then it means they have not added any new or didnt get any new stock this wave any. there been times i read of new wae and check any but just old stuff or none so we didnt get any last wave any i guess. but did get new stuff this wave any. not sure how many boxes but was a nice amount to get a half bag ful any and might have been more but had to get any needs as well. so was lucky we got new stuff and was able to get any at time.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Okay. Thanks for the info - I'll check my local store.
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Just thinking how dt has become the new media seller any when and if they get any that i guess collectors get for want or interest while others get any and scan and sell any. seeing how some stuff was sitting at my place long time kinda then any i saw multiples of what was sold all for any reason and not be shocked if stuff got scanned to see if resell worth any. and why i try grab any of want or interest to not miss or skip any worthy grabs at time. i try check any wave and grab any want for any reason but i guess if cant check ahead of others cause guess store workers snag any ahead of time by chance. but have scored some gold by chance anytime. just shocked seeing some get slammed with boxes anytime while others dont get any and not sure why. cause dt gets palets of media i gues and send it out anytime because idk how often they buy the stock seeing how other resellers get pallets of it anytime. just glad all the media dt gets is not all just b and c movie stuff or be less sold any lol.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Stopped in the Dollar Tree closest to where I live today for a few items. Oddly, I hadn't checked this location regarding the latest movie shipment. The remaining movies were strewn in a roller cart by the entrance. Only a handful of DVD's - no blu-ray's. As luck would have it - among the DVD's was one lone copy of High-Rise complete with slip cover!

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I have "High-Rise" DVD, it's on my to watch pile.
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Yea, got it by chance as for High Rise and variety others and even blu ray i thought was dvd but saw blu ray on side so np and then got some combos by chance. so saw the setup in front and check tech area and none so guess they just did an actual setup in front so got a nice half bag any so not bad and so wait another month for any new so make sure bills get paid ahead of wants lol. just feel got so much media i seen and not gotta hold out till next news of any and just hope can score any later by chance. may try get blu rays more besides combo but dpends on cast and extra any.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Went in today to get a sympathy card and they had a well-picked-over display of dvd and blu-ray. Mostly the same stuff as last time and a lot of kid-oriented titles. Several copies of the World Series and Superbowl DVDs
I bought 2: London Spy (BBC 2-DVD Tv series 5 hours) "The Best of The Worst" Mill Creek 12-Movie set (3 DVDs) with a K-Mart $5 sticker on it. It's all the usual public domain horror/monster titles. |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Picked up some new stuff. Stepfather & Monolith were pretty good.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
For real?
"Stepfather" is among new titles? That's been on my 'to get' list for years. Curious about "Monolith". |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I wish "Stepfather" was the original.
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Grand.
I thought it was the original - "Stepfather". Nevermind. |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I looked into it because I dig the one from the 80's as well. I didn't even know it was remade a decade or so ago, but apparently it ain't great.
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I own the remake (DVD) - it was okay.
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
More new stuff being out this week (or next?). I've discovered a few odd/interesting things:
47th Annual Playstation Fiesta Bowl (Penn St. vs. Washington) Complete Game Ghost Hunters: Season 9, Part 1 J.R.R. Tolkien: Master of the Rings (Special Ediition DVD/CD/Booklet) Power of Grayskull: The Definitive History of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Also grabbed a couple of films which were blind buys: American Woman The Wife |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I don't think this will be common but came across Deja Vu from Olive Films - the Jaclyn Smith movie from the 80s.
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I have found a few Olive Films (Greed in the Sun and S O S Tidal Wave) but they seem to be fairly rare finds.
|
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Good to know. Will check my local store.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
Went to my local store - turns out their stuff was put out last week. But since it's been triple digits here and they changed their hours, now closing at eight, the bin was full. FULL.
I had called and said they were going to put it away elsewhere in the store. Rushed over and saw them. Looked about and as I was examining, the clerk was putting the away. Can you wait a couple of minutes? Was fortunate, she was the only one on the floor so only a few titles were put in the cart - which I looked at. There were customers who needed to get checked out and help finding stuff. That game me enough time to go through the whole bin. Took home various titles for their cases and... "You Might Be The Killer", "Death Kiss", "Monolith", "In Doubious Battle", "Listen Up Philip", "Red Rag", "The Clinic", "Righteous Villians", "Better Off Zed" with slip, "Gates Of Darkness" with slip and "End Of The Fall" with slip. Could not find "Power Of Grayskull" or any Olive titles. Thanks for the info folks! This is why I love this locale. |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
A bit bummed that one of the DT B&M stores I frequent now has significantly less BDs & DVDs than they used to.
Even so, I was able to find a few things I was after: The Alpha Test (2020) Short Term 12 (2013) The Protector 2 (2013) |
Re: Dollar Tree DVDs
I feel i got so much now that i dont rush for next wave if got any new. and gotta watch budget and really wait til got the itch to get any more later by chance.
