Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

Went again and saw some more stuff added to mine which is nice since they rarely add new stuff. It's been all Robsessed, Ringers and Stan Lee DVDs for months until recently. Today I picked up:

Evening (Previously Viewed, but looks fine)
Starting Out In The Evening

They also had a ton of Screen Media released DVDs (Fire From Below, Lymelife, etc...) that I passed on since I can not add them in HD through Disc 2 Digital and frankly they looked like terrible movies:)

Can anyone conform seeing these in any NJ stores?
I hit about 6 DT's in NJ, and there was not one disc in any store.

Only about one in five stores stock DVDs in my experience, so it's probably best to call the stores in advance.

FWIW, Cinnaminson has the newer Mill Creek Blu-rays, and Moorestown has a new shipment of DVDs.

On top of a ton of "Thirtysomething" 10 Ep discs & "Marrying Man"/"Betsy's Wedding" double features, a local Chattanooga store had a few "Genius Entertainment" discs. I picked up "Journey to the Center of the Earth" (w/Ricky Schroder & Peter Fonda) and "Son of the Dragon" (w/David Carradine)

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

I couldn't make a turn and that caused me to drive a bit farther down a street which had a Dollar Tree I was unaware of. I found American Mall there, with a PV sticker, which is really the only one of these recent findings I had any interest in.

I'm not at all a PV buyer, but the cellophane wrap looked New, with the folded corners. The disc also looked New, or else cleaned very well. The DVD case did look a tad beat up, but it could have come from bring handled through the wrap. Does anyone know if they sometimes put PV stickers on New items, or if there are any other ways to tell?

Meanwhile, I've also seen:

Meet Bill
Ringers
a Stan Lee DVD called Mutants, Monsters & Marvels: Creating Spider-Man and Here Come the Heroes

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

The PV that I've seen at Dollar Tree have all been used. I think they have machines that wrap them and it looks like new cellophane but it isn't from the manufacturer. Dollar General had some fox titles that were new but labeled PV.

Thanks for the info g. That makes sense. It's too bad they are able to make such a convincing shrinkwrap, but I've known of people who carefully remove the original cellophane and replace it and it's pretty much impossible to know the difference. And of course certain new releases sometimes come out without the nicer cellophane with the folded corners. So I guess we can never know for sure. But this was marked so I can't complain.

Re: Dollar Tree DVDs

I've stopped at five DTs over the past week while completing other errands. Three of the stores had no movies at all. One store had three titles I've never come across before (An Innocent Man, Heavens Fall/Blue Ridge Fall double feature, Dungeons & Dragons: The Complete Animated Series) and I picked those up. The last store had a ton of blurays and DVDs but 99% of it was the same stuff they had back in March when I last stopped in. Not sure if they got more stock in or the stuff they had just never sold. The only new title was a 4 pack with Kids of the Round Table, Jungle Book: Search for the Lost Treasure, Train Quest, and Micro Mini-Kids. I picked that up along with thirtysomething S1V1 (which I've passed on countless time before ).

Stopped into a DT I don't usually go to and, almost hidden by the housewares, there was a small pile of BR cases...

After flipping through a dozen copies of "Gross Anatomy", there it was, the one and only copy of "Disorganized Crime"...

Finally...

If you mean that I am a dealer who resells at Jakes?Zerns,No. I only purchase one copy of each for personal viewing. However, I do have a retail store called "Smart Alecs Toys" at Royer Plaza,Rt !00 & Countyline Rd.

The customers at Jakes are so cheap that even a buck for a DVD is too much. Jakes closed for the winter and Zerns is dying a slow death because management keeps raising rents hoping to close the whole operation in order to put a strip mall up.
