Re: Warner Archive sales

Right, I saw the list, but that's what's currently available. Paul_SD already said he had purchased Forbidden Hollywood 6 & 7 as pressed discs and they are no longer on the page.

Since the Archive has been around for years I'm sure there's a lot of titles I've been wanting that I missed out on but would've gladly paid for at their retail prices had I known.

Re: Warner Archive sales

I looked at the list. I know that the Bowery Boys Volume 2 announcement said it was on pressed disks. Looking over this list, I don't see any of the recent releases, which makes me think that WA helpfully created this list and then failed to update it.

Re: Warner Archive sales

There is a Father's Day sale(up to 30% off) currently going on select Archive titles. But with $5 off a $25 order that is automatically taken off plus getting $10 off a $50 order applying the coupon code WBAFSAVE10 plus free shipping gets you a good deal when ordering some of the Archive collections.

Wound up ordering The Bowery Boys Vol.1 & The Mexican Spitfire 8 Movie Collection for $40.84 before taxes.

I just ordered Forbidden Hollywood 4 & 5 with the links & codes you kindly provided for $44.82 total (they charged me sales tax...... GRR).

The receipt states "MOD"; even though they're in the factory pressed list discussed above. I sure hope I get factory pressed or I am not going to be happy........... (I really couldn't afford this.........)

I tried it but it won't let me stack the discounts. The $5 off doesn't work with Archive titles, and if you order $25 of non-Archive titles and combine them with Archive titles, the $10 off 50 discount supersedes the $5 discount, so you can't get $15 off.

Still, getting $10 off a $50 Archive order is a good deal.

Thanks for the heads up.

Re: Warner Archive sales

I was going to get the CRIME DOES NOT PAY shorts collection and THE MAN FROM UNCLE Movies collection, but with tax it still came out to be a little over $50 and that's just too much for DVD-Rs. I would rather save my money for the upcoming Criterion Blu sale.

Re: Warner Archive sales

I just went to check the status of my order from 6/14. I checked out as a guest (didn't register), but I did get a confirmation email & my bank account has been charged. I just looked up the order by order #, my email address & my zip code. The site said, "We can't find an order matching the information you have provided." I'm 100% certain I put in the correct info (at least the zip & email address; Warner provided the order # in the email they sent me, so Warner could have emailed me a bad order #.)

Is this normal for Warner?

Re: Warner Archive sales

Thanks for all of the discounts listed in this thread and OP. I ordered the LOTR EE blu-ray box set on Sunday, 6/16, for $40 + tax and it arrived today.

4 & 5 arrived today. They are still factory pressed.

Wonder if 6 & 7 are? I collect EGR hardcore (I consider EGR the best American male actor of the talkies era, with Johnny Depp & Boris Karloff being his only competition imo), & Hatchetman is in #7. I already have it, but would like a factory pressed copy.

For $22.41 ea including tax, I'm pleased with this order.

Factory pressed AND DVD-R are opposites. Could you please clarify?

Does anyone KNOW if Forbidden Hollywood 6 & 7 are burned or factory pressed?

Just ordered and received FH V6 about 2 weeks ago, it was pressed. So was Superboy S2.

Re: Warner Archive sales

For those who pay more attention than me, how often do they have sales on sets? I'm anxious to get the two recent Forbidden Hollywood sets, but I'll happily wait if there's a chance that they'll drop below $35 each at some point.

Thank you! Can anyone answer on V7?

I also want the Karloff 3 film, but I assume that is burned. When it's on sale ($14 at the moment for 3 films) I can live with burned.

Re: Warner Archive sales

Yeah, most of the items in my wish list were down 15% or not at all, despite being old, old releases. I guess I'm waiting on the next 5 for 50 sale.

Oldies actually is having a better WAC sale than WAC, but they show their editions of FH 6 & 7 as burned, not pressed.

Re: Warner Archive sales

Warner Archive re-activated the 5 for $50 sale through 9/16. I'm trying to stay strong and not buy but my willpower is fading, fading . . .
