Mine was "$1 off 2," which I interpreted as meaning you have to rent two movies to get the discount, but the fine print at the bottom says "Code valid online or at the box only for a $1.00 discount off the first nights daily rental fee for a DVD, Blu-ray Disc(R) or video game." No mention of having to rent two, so I'm going to give mine a shot for a single rental.

I get a code most Fridays. It is pretty rare that they are good for a freebie though.

Usually I get a $0.50 off TWO rentals, or Rent 1 Get 1 Free. This week I got $0.50 off one rental. I haven't even received the monthly free rental text message in a while.

I figure it's because I only rent with the free rental coupons and haven't actually paid for a redbox rental in ages.

There was an ad for 50 cents an additional movie when one is rented and it was taken off automatically at checkout, may be there for others also.

Here's a Rent 1 Get 1 Free code that I'm not going to be able to use. No guarantees, but it may work to get a free rental without having to get two movies.
