Not great at all. Utah stores won't take this on Blu-rays, so it's only useful for used CDs, but those are already sale priced at 30% off.

The 30% sale on used CDs ended Saturday at my local stores.

decided to cut my ties with the BS club. Complete lack of coupons this year was a real disappointment - guess I got spoiled with the 40% off coupons. I do stop by every week though, but just to check on what used blu's have dropped to a decent price.

Picked up 'SWAT' and 'Crash' last week for under $5 a pop so was pretty happy with that.

The last 3 times I've been at the store nobody asked me for a backstage pass... I guess they're either being phased out or they get so many "no" answers they don't bother asking. Mine expired in March. One fewer thing on my key chain. Good riddance.

This place is as dead as the local FYE. They sure know how to kill themselves off.

I still find lots of good deals (new American Graffiti BD for $10) at the local FYE. And there are always people there...don't know everyone actually buys anything though.
As far as coupons go, you have to look for them at social media sites. There's a 30% off Used via Foursquare that's good until 7/31/11. I've used it a few times in the last month or so.

I have set up an account with Foursquare using an email address specifically created for their site (to see how much spam comes along with it).

I did get 30% off on a used CD today, saving over $6. You have to bring your laptop computer or phone into the store to show you've checked in. Actually they allowed me to skip that step this time.

I'll have to go back and see if they have American Graffiti for $10 around here.

Does this 20% coupon count toward Blu-Ray? I will sign up for the Backstage plus print this coupon to make it work. One of FYE's has Ultimate Cut of the Watchmen available which is OOP (for $49.99).

I assume you know the BSP is $25? I usually will only buy one if I'm spending at least $200 to get most of the $25 back immediately.

Yes but I figured I'd do the 30 day free trial (never got it) then use the 20% coupon same day or later. It's a generic coupon so I don't see why I couldn't use it. That would bring the total of the Wathcmen to around $40.

The stores in Utah won't allow this coupon for Blu-ray, based on past experience.

Didn't think of that, as I don't do returns unless something is actually defective (I have 1 small moral; that's frightening!)

I received the email, but do not have a current backstage pass. No plans to buy another one for the once-every-6-mos. coupon.

After several years, I haven't renewed mine either. All the bigger, better stores in the Puget Sound area (Tacoma, Bellevue, Puyallup) have closed in the last couple of years, leaving two small mall-based outlets within my logical driving range. Malls are a drag and based on the past 4 or 5 months of checking out these last stores, I don't think I'll find the $250 in purchases necessary to pay for the card.

I'm actually near you. I bought mine because a few months ago both Silverdale & Tacoma Mall had a TON of new (not used) clearance cd's & dvd's. Unfortunately i didn't buy the card until the 3rd of 3 large purchases (for the reasons you mention above), & of course there's been nothing since!

That's basing it strictly on the 10% discount. In the past there were a lot of BSP only coupons that allowed you to save much more and pay for the card much faster. I'm talking about the 40% used, the $3 off a $12 purchase etc. But those coupons have nearly dried up...the recent 30% off not withstanding. I'll reconsider my renewal based on these coupons.
