what day did you hit Modesto stores. I went on Friday by complete accident prior to seeing this thread and picked up a few nice gems. The one at Prescott. I checked Hatch and Prescott both on Sunday afternoon and they were picked clean. I have been looking for Scooby doo Season sets and Superfriends vol I since reading this thread and havent been able to find them anywhere in the Modesto area. Was just wondering what day you went through and if you actually saw any of those

Re: Big Lots Part 4

~Loooong time lurker~ Thanks for all the updates in this thread! I never would have known about these deals if weren't for this thread. Nieces are very happy.

Picked up: Animaniacs 1 & 2
P&TB 1 & 2
Smallville S7 blu
Scooby Doo Collection
Scooby Doo 5 Original Movies
Scooby Doo Best of New Movies

I really wanted the Wonder Woman complete set but didn't see any even though the shelves had just been stocked. However, I decided to try the Stockton Blvd. store first thing Saturday morning and was able to pick up the only Wonder Woman set!

Yeah, I had a missing Disc 1. I wonder if the Big Lots boxsets are rewrapped and the employees are helping themselves to a disc here and there.

As someone else said, the only additional feature is the outer box that holds the three individual season boxes.

The complete season, however, lacks the 'bonus disc' (with Shazam!) episode that was included with the initial Season 3 releases (not all Season 3 sets had this, either).

By the way, can anyone here who got the bonus disc in a Big Lots Season 3 confirm whether or not the outer packaging had that sticker proclaiming the bonus disc, or not? None of the S3 sets I saw had that sticker. Bought one just in case, but haven't opened it yet.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

The S3 of Wonder Woman I bought at Newbury Comics in MA for $7.99 last week (and I assume was part of the same shipment as the Big Lots sets) did NOT include the Shazam! episode disc.

Found more Nip/Tuck S4 BD, Smallville S7 BD, Smallville S4 SD. Check my trades list in the exchange forum. Still no Wonder Woman Complete Series or Thundercats S1 V2 or S2 V1

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Got to the Woodbridge, VA store today and they were mostly cleaned out. Managed to get ER S2. Passed on Smallville BD sets. Someone else in the store had a Wonder Woman Complete Set in their cart so I asked them if they saw any others. I apparently just missed a few. They had WW season sets left. When I was in line I was talking to the guy w/the complete set about how hard it was to find anything. He confessed this was a duplicate for trading and offered it to me to purchase. Nice guy.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

My brother picked up the Wonder Woman complete set & the season three had the Shazam disc. He said season one wasn't shrink wrapped but two & three were (within the outer box)

another funny thing I've seen, best buy now has a lot of their Friends sets stickered at $53.99 and Wonder Woman Complete series for $179.99!!!

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Checked out my local store again yesterday. Quite a few TV boxes--NFL, scattered ER, lots of Scooby Doo, Pinky/Brain etc. Nothing too appealing to me though in that bunch.

Got two Meryl Streep movies for myself, River Wild and Postcards from the Edge. Was momentarily thrilled to find a two-disc Philadelphia Story, only to pick it up and find out both discs were floaters. The price for this was $6.00; this was only the fourth WB two-disc I've seen at my store, and the first that was $6.00 instead of $3.00.

I'd love to snag a two-disc Dog Day Afternoon; I'm trying to complete my set of Controversial Classics Volume 2 for cheap without springing for the box. No luck so far. Saw the single-disc All the President's Men there too; has the two-disc of that one ever been spotted at BL? I don't recall hearing about it. I may just cave in and get DDA from the upcoming DD sale; it won't
be $3.00, but I won't have to keep playing BL roulette and coming up empty.

I did get lucky with stuff for my kid though. Found a whole bunch of Nick Jr. titles, which my son enjoys, so I scooped up five of those.

EDIT: Just checked DD's prices on some of the Warner two-discs I want. If these are the prices when the sale starts, I won't be buying them there. Even with 25% off, I can get these way cheaper elsewhere.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

The Warner Home Video people are really helpful- I got the only copy of Dukes of Hazzard Season 2, and one of the discs has an obvious manufacturing defect. I scanned it on my computer and it couldn't get through all of it, so I went to Warner's website and emailed customer service under "Home Video and DVD", and got a reply today from someone who will be sending me a prepaid label to send it back and they will send me a new one.

I got Wonder Woman Season 3 by itself, there was no sticker on the outside and no bonus disc inside. Still hoping to find the complete series but not holding my breath at this point. I saw one copy of The Jamie Foxx Show with a sticker saying "Bonus disc inside", but not knowing what it was and being low on funds I couldn't pick that up.

Is the Thundercats two disc version pretty common? I didn't even know it existed. I recently completed a trade and I was under the impression it was the six disc volume one. I had no idea there was another. Oh well.

A friend found Animaniacs Vol. 2 for me in a store in Tulsa Oklahoma, but I've yet to P&TB Vol. 1 or A! V. 1 or 3. Are there any known sightings of Vol. 3?

I totally agree. That hoarding shouldn't be allowed . It's not as though BL would lose the sale(s), cos I know for a fact that a lot of us who are walking away empty handed & disappointed would buy the stuff if it was there.

Yes, the hoarding needs to be stopped. It's annoying. Anyone see a West Wing s1 or Friends s2?

Re: Big Lots Part 4

FYI, I just got the Big Lots ad for Wednesday and it shows the TV season box sets. I think this was posted earlier. According to the ad the sale starts on Wednesday, July 15th, so there is still hope that more box sets will be put out for the sale.

Thanks,
vgc

I picked up an ad in the store today, and saw the box sets in it, but I didn't notice the ad date. It's in my car now. I'll check in the morning... They definitely haven't had anything new in a while...

the complete series for $53.99? If so, then that is actually better than all 10 @ $6 each....

Some stores weekly sale starts on Sunday and some on Wednesday. Almost all of the stores put out the stock at least a day or two before the sale unless they are extremely short staffed. My nearest store here in Thomasville, Ga has already put out all of their TV on DVD and I picked up a few titles. My next nearest store in Tallahassee, FL has yet to put out their display for the ad that starts Wednesday. So they may put out the dispaly between now and Tuesday evening, but it costs me money to drive there to check it out. I'll probably go there early Wed. to see if I can pick up a few titles and maybe see the new Harry Potter movie to boot.

I don't recall any SuperBowl sets at Lemay Ferry, but the Kingshwy store had multiple copies. Lemay Ferry did have the Lakers set, though. All 3 stores had Joey and I didn't see any Friends sets at any of the stores.

They had DVD sets at Prescott last Thursday in the wire rack when where they usually kept CDs and video games at. That's where I found History of R'n'R and other things. They *might* have had Superfriends, there was a Scooby Doo season but it was a newer one. The Oakdale location only had Roots: NG when I went, I haven't bothered to be back but that's a lousy location. Hatch never has anything. I did see Superfriends in Turlock too, but a week has elapsed since then. I would strongly advise that store in Stockton, it seems to be in an area where most people don't really look at the dvds.
Me, myself, am still trying to find Land of the Pharoahs (w/ Joan Collins) and Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry.

Thank you. I had owned the Wonder Woman seasons for years as a big fan so I did not really need it. Enjoy the set. The local stores do not seem to have gotten in the History of Rock 'N' Roll set as I have yet to see it.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

just picked up a copy of drew carey season 1 and am very glad I did. havnt watched the show in awhile and watching it now again, I find it to be brilliantly written and for comedy value right up there with seinfeld. went looking online and saw that warner only released season 1 and no further seasons. maybe they are too cheap to pay the copyrights for the 5 oclock world and cleveland rocks themes on the later episodes
