Has anyone seen Ride the High Country in any of the SC or NC stores?

Hoping to pick it up
I did see Ride the High Country - I think at the Big Lots near NC State. Great movie; I was still tempted to grab it even though I already have a copy. --Peter

BTW I LOVE the insert with the money-back offer- buy any 6 and get $50 back. Too bad it already expired 3 years ago, you could spend $36, make a $14 profit and still keep the discs!

Re: Big Lots Part 4

I went back to the store closest to me today (was just there yesterday) and they had put out all new stuff. I got the Wonder Woman complete, Scooby Doo 5 pack, Smallville S7 Blu-ray, Six Feet Under S3, and the New Scooby Doo Movies. The clerk said the ad had started today and they had been filled it this morning.

They had 4 copies of Smallville S7 but 3 had floaters so I picked up only one. No sign of the S6, or NipTuck Blu-rays. There is one store across town I'll check tomorrow, since both of the others put out new stock today.

It's not possible to print on both sides (i.e. HD side and DVD side).

Re: Big Lots Part 4

I grabbed the last copy of Animaniacs V1 ($6) as well the following:

Animaniacs V2 (plenty of those as of 2:30 p.m. on 7/11) $6
History of Rock and Roll (plenty of those as of 2:30 p.m. on 7/11) $6
Roots: The Next Generation (plenty of those as of 2:30 p.m. on 7/11) $6
Empire Records: Remix! Special Fan Edition (in snapper. Boo! ) $3
Pride and Prejudice and Vanity Fair 2-pack ($6)

The Wonder Woman complete set, Smallville Blu and Blade Complete Series were gone in case anyone from Muskegon is reading this.

For those in the Grand Rapids area, did the 3 stores in town have the same stock or were they all different?

I got a copy of the Dallas Cowboy 2 pack in Austin, TX (Pharmer Lane); it was the only one.

FYI content of 2 double disc sets side-by-side:

1. "The Dallas Cowboys - The Complete History of America's Team 1960-2003": "action footage, memoirs, and interviews" on disc 1, 1992 NFC Championship Game on disc 2

2. "Super Bowl Champions Collector's Series - Dallas Cowboys": footage of Super Bowls XI, XII, XXVII, XXVIII, and XXX)

Not able to post links due to newbie status, but both have descriptions on amazon.com

I haven't seen that one here in San Diego. All I've come across are the Best of the New Scooby Movies, Scooby Doo, Where Are You? Season 3, a couple of Scooby Doo boxes with several movies (old and new) and just today I found the Scooby Doo/DynoMutt Hour box for the very first time.

I too would love to find seasons 1 and 2 of the original series!

Consider yourself lucky! I haven't seen S3 or the Doo/Dyno set.

I picked up S3 today, I saw the dynomutt series, but skipped it. I have the 5 movie set and the best of movies set already, so I think I'm good, I just like season sets.

Really? Seems like it would at least be possible to print in the very center, like most of the DualDisc releases were (CD on one side DVD on the other.) Those are a lot easier to read and all 2-sided discs should be printed like those.

And that Wonder Woman set is so weird. I can't understand why they would attempt to sell some seasons individually for $6 and then also sell all three seasons together for $6.

I wish I could find more, they would make good gifts and if nothing else offer to trade or sell them for cost just to keep those damn SD'ers from getting them.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

i know i thought they were miss priced at first, and was expecting the cashier to say that they were not suppose to be 6.00 each
normally iam not one to buy a bunch of something to resell for a profit but its a tight month for me with my rent going up and taxes going up yet again, and then getting that flipping iou for my state tax refund instead of actual money. couldnt pass up buying a few extra, and like i said there were still 10 instock when i left. i

I think alot of these sets are being purchased for resale.

I took a look at Craigslist Los Angeles and found the following:

"Smallville Blu-ray Season 7 in sealed brand new condition. Asking for $30."

"BRAND NEW, UNOPENED copies of ANIMANIACS Volume 2 and PINKY AND THE BRAIN Volumes 1 & 2. Great classic cartoons. Animaniacs is a 5 Disc Set and the Pinky and The Brain are 4 Disc Sets. I'm selling them at $20 EACH, FIRM."

If you see folks advertising these Biglot sets, just flag them. Hopefully if enough people keep flagging them, these roaches will disappear...

I think there will be alot of folks looking for these sets at Biglots on Sunday. Good Luck to all...

Re: Big Lots Part 4

People who buy stuff like that just to resell at a profit are among the lowest forms of life on earth. They just screw people out of getting them at the original price. Reply to the Craigslist ads telling them you'll give 'em $6.00, not a penny more.

More than 10 years ago I got into a flame war with some jerk on alt.video.laserdisc who was buying cutout LDs from Camelot Music and trying to sell them at more than twice what he paid. When I criticized him for doing that he sent me some nice profanity-filled emails, and (horror of horrors) said he would NEVER let me buy anything from him. Here's the post that started it, still archived:

Better yet, reply to the ads and agree to meet somewhere to buy it (preferably in front of a Big Lots) and never show. These are probably the same people that started selling Thriller cassette tapes for $1600 the day after MJ died.

Or you can also post your own Craigslist ad stating that such and such titles are on sale at Big Lots for $6 and to check there first.

for people who have gotten the Thundercats sets. Are they the full 6 disc sets or are they split up from the box sets and trying to sell "individually"???

Re: Big Lots Part 4

I totally understand where you are comming from and normally i would not buy something simply to resell but they had a lot left when i purchased the couple i did (keeping one for myself) and then taking them to ameoba which (by their very nature pay crap for movies and then raise the price for a profit. an example they did give me 35 for the sets but they resell them even higher currently that wonder woman set in amoeba is 95 used)

if there had only been say 5 copies at big lots i would have just bought one for myself and left the rest for others but there alot more than that even after i bought what i bought, and according to the service manager they will be getting more in. so in a week moment i decided since its a little tight for me this month why not buy a couple and see what i can get, from the place that usually gives people a fraction of what they go and resell it for when u trade in or sell.

i did only buy 2 smallville season 7 blus though one for me and one to hopefully trade evenly for season 6 on blu or if i cant find one of those then i will just sell it to someone for the 6 i paid for it.

like i said i see your point and normally would not buy to resell, but reading your post definately does make me feel kind of jerkish.
