Re: Big Lots Part 4

Hit up the Aston, PA location this morning and saw the display of tv box sets and some warner/new line titles that i haven't seen at this location before.

I bought..

Nightmares and Dreamscapes
Pink Cadillac
Honkytonk Man
The Hand
Other Peoples Money
Demon Seed

I first found out about Big Lots last summer and this place has seriously been like a hangout for me.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

My nearest BL finally put out their $6 DVDs... about 1/2 as much as the store I'd previously visited. They told me they went out at 9am and I got there at 9:30am. Unfortunately, other than Pinky & the Brain V2 and Full House S5, there was nothing I hadn't already seen at a previous BL. I bought a couple extra Wonder Woman complete sets, Smallville S7 BRs, Roots AE, Pinky and the Brains V1 & 2, and Animaniacs V1 for potential trades because I'm thinking the only way I'm going to get the other sets I'm missing (Animaniacs V3, Dallas S5, and Friends S2 and S10, Joey S2) is to go to the DVD Talk trading forum here.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Stopped by 5 Biglot stores and snagged the following:

Bravados (starring Gregory Peck) $3
ER S3 $6
Thundercats S2 V1 (6 discs containing eps. 1 - 34) $6
Thundercats S2 V2 (6 discs containing eps. 35 - 65) $6

Out of 5 stores there was only one copy of Bravados and the Thundercat sets. No blu's, Wonder Women complete or Superbowl I - X. They had lots of OC S2, Dukes S4, S6, Knots Landing S1 and assorted Dallas and ER sets.

I definately get the impression that many stores have more in the backroom and will only bring them out as they sell down the existing sets on the wire rack...

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Another trip and nothing new. I'm kinda getting tired of stopping by once or more a day but until I find those Dallas seasons, I have to.

And add to those found in Derry:

Re: Big Lots Part 4

My area has been flooded with Wonder Woman the Complete Series. We Big Lot fans know that some geographical areas get more of a particular title than other regions. My region (SF Bay Area) does not have any Thunder Cats.

I have purchased a boatload of Wonder Woman the Complete Series (don't worry I left a boatload as well), strictly to trade with fellow DVD Talkers, one for one on the DVD Talk trading forum but have been disappointed in the response. I guess many of us enjoy the hunt, more than the trade.

I pretty much have everything out there with the exception of the Thunder Cats, so if your area is rich in Thunder Cats and poor in everything else, please check out the Big Lots trading forum, lets make a deal, especially if your Sunday (when we are all expecting the big Bonanza) leaves you short your favorite series.

no, sorry, this was the animated series. If you are in Derry, though, try to find a newbury comics, or call one, there's definitely one in Salem. The Bulrington, MA store had some george reeves' superman sets on their "wicked cheap dvd's" end cap for $9.99 each. They also had lois and clark and some batman animated seasons. I did a double-take because 9.99 seemed pretty cheap.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Regarding SUPERFRIENDS.... I've seen SEASON 1 mentioned as being a BL find and also "VOLUME 2." Is that the second season or were they broken up in different DVD set incarnations over the years?

I have some individual I SPY volumes I would trade for SUPERFRIENDS. Haven't been able to unload those I SPY's anywhere, LOL.

I started thinking that when I noticed my stores retaining the same cardboard display units but always having new titles mixed in with the old.

I've been going to Big Lots WAAAAY too much lately.

But this allowed me to post some extras on the trade list for those interested...

Thanks. $9.99 is a great price, but I'll hold off.

I was just thinking maybe, possibly, hopefully...we'll see more Warner Brothers TV sets in the future months after this current wave drys up.

I bought all the Dallas seasons and inside there is a pamphlet, brochure of other WB titles like Superman, The Waltons, F-Troop, Gilligan's Island, and CHiPS.

Makes me wonder if we'll see those in future Big Lots bins, too?

Re: Big Lots Part 4

The big lots I've been to (SoCal) have run out of everything except Joey the complete series and maybe the Scooby Movies vol. 1 almost immediately. Seems like people have been picking those shelves clean (probably for trading or selling at Second Spin). When I asked about more coming in, they said once they're gone that'll pretty much be it.

I'm lookin for Nip/Tuck season 4 Bluray if anyone has a spare and the complete Wonder Woman (which I had not even seen on the shelves). I've got Smallville sason 7 BR, Puinky and the brain, Animaniacs for trade. Thanks

The JL "Double Feature" 2-pack I bought the other day doesn't have "Justice on Trial", just the other two discs. Good thing I saved the receipt, in case I run across the 3-pack! Thanks!

Cleaned up at my Big Lots today in NJ, here's what I got:

- Wonder Woman The Complete Series - $6
- Pinky and The Brain Volume 2 - $6
- Carpool - $3
- Nothing But Trouble -$3

I'm still on the lookout for Animaniacs Volumes 2 & 3 as well as Pinky and The Brain Volume 3... The hunt continues.

Re: Big Lots Part 4

Ha ha ... I love how we're all waiting for tomorrow in the hopes of finding that elusive box set (Wonder Woman complete, Thundercats, etc.)! We are definitely all in this together!

Here's what I bought today at two separate Big Lots:

Scooby Doo/Dynomutt Hour: The Complete Series
Sam Kinison Unleashed

Both were the only copies I saw ... I also picked up some Brut aftershave for under $3 ... lol

Re: Big Lots Part 4

The stores I went to today already had the Sunday ad at the front and they had "As Advertised" signage next to the box sets. One store that previously didnt have much created a whole endcap full of these sets.

I just got back from there and scored a Smallville 7 blu, they had one more...looks like they put out more stuff too...nothing real major

The location by the Tri County Mall hardly had any sets.

The Hamilton Location had a lot, but nothing major at this point.

I am still looking for Animaniacs 1 and complete Wonder Woman.
