Mini FAQ

Online only a single code can be applied to an order

Unfortunately they did it again with the online coupons. However you can sort of get around it if you do a ship to home order at a store.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I was shot down on the 50% off BBS at lunch. She mentioned that it came out the day after the sale before I even asked, though I then feigned ignorance. I'll try again tonight. She did say the pre-order on it was $89, so maybe if we can get a 15 or 20% off coupon to use in addition to my member discount, then I'll order it. Still going to ask about it as part of the sale at a couple B&Ns though.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is BBS? When I see that acronym, I only think of Bulletin Board System (pre-cursor to the internet)...

The America Lost and Found boxset. BBS is BBS Productions, the production company behind the films in the boxset.

If the information for the coupon is there it will more than likely show show up later in the week. From what I saw there is supposed to be a 25% coupon for members and another for all customers. I should have read the fine print more closely because these do look like they will have a store coupon and online code. Usually they say "Store Coupon and Online Coupon Details" for the coupon information. The online coupon threw me off. It does also say redeemed once at a retail store and BN.com.

Online Coupon Details:

For each customer, this coupon can be redeemed once at any Barnes & Noble retail store and once per billing address online at BN.com.

Thanks. I think I'll wait a few days on my attempt to get the BBS box.

Well, that should make the BBS a lock.

It seems like this would be the best way to get Monterey Pop Festival? My math says that if the cashiers apply the coupons in the right order, it should work out to $19.875. If they bungle up the order, applying the $5 last, you could potentially save ~$1.50 more.

$70 * .5 (sale) * .9 (member discount) - $5 (5 off 20) * .75 (coupon) = $19.875

BTW, anyone been successful calling a store and having them ship to home? Also, is the shipping still free if you're a member? I ask because the nearest B&N is about 15 mi away.

Good luck having them apply both the $5 and the 25%. YMMV and likely requires some sort of override at the register.

Hmm. Neither invalidates the other, or does it?

There's almost no chance of them accepting 2 coupons for a single item unless one of them is the $5 off a $50 purchase. I've done that successfully because it isn't a coupon for a discount on an item like a percent off or the $5 off a DVD.

15 miles is too far to go to a store? You can't be serious.

I'd be going only for this and I've already gone a couple of times and wouldn't mind saving on gas/time. I've seen Monterey Pop already and there's no compelling reason to get it other than "for the collection".

Seems like you really have no reason to get it. If I wanted it bad enough I would drive a measly 15 miles. That's like a drive around the block in California.

Use Paypal as your payment method at B&N.com this holiday season and get 15% off and free shipping. I tested it but it does not appear to be working yet. I'm hoping it stacks with the AAA discount.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I just ran across four of these store coupons! Does not look like there are any online codes available with them. Please do not use the coupons before the official start date of November 11, 2010.

Me too. Unless they read the part about not being eligible on "products available for pre-order".

Awe shit, I didn't see that. Dammit.

I've just re-read it and it's pretty far in the restrictions, so hopefully it won't be a problem.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

I've been able to pre-order three Criterions with coupons this sale and haven't had any problems. If you don't get an employee that likes to strictly enforce every word in the fine print they will probably do it.

FYI, i just tried to order through Pay Pal & did NOT get 15% off or free shipping.

I obviously did not complete the order. Any idea what I did wrong?

PP's web site indicates it should be live.
