I just ordered the Rossellini set and I used the Library link and my receipt reads
ORDER TOTAL: $34.84
Your credit card will be charged* $42.49

What is up with that ....do they need to check with your Library to give the extra discount?

**Maybe it is working, but just isn't as good as I thought it would be, it says an additional discount of $13, for $64.99 total.

It deducts off the list price and not the online price. Since the box set is already marked down to 40% off it is going to yield a smaller discount.

So far I have done 2 orders with both coupons at the library link and my orders were being charged the correct total.

You're welcome! I'm debating getting that one myself but don't know if I would like it. I recently rented one of the films from netflix and thought it was depressing. Not sure if the other ones are better.

Just to clarify, I meant the main page of B&N that the coupon link takes you to says 11%. It is likely supposed to be 11%, but it's only giving 6%. It's probably a good idea to mention it, since anyone following the link will be confused. Hopefully it goes back to 11% in the future...

This is a common error. I'd say that problem has happened on 1/3 of my receipts. But I have always been charged the correct amount. Still, whenever it does that to me, I print a PDF of that screen in case I have to fight it later.

It happens most often if you don't click the link for the receipt right away. If you wait 10 minutes, then click it, it is frequently wrong.

On the first page I changed the discount for NASA to 6%, but below did add a brief note about what it says on the main page about the 11% discount and free shipping. I'm not sure if the discount will ever go back to 11% again. I would hope at least eventually it would get corrected if it doesn't.

Not sure if it was pointed out, but a number of the Doctor Who discs are back to 40-50% off and included in the B2G1 sale. Just place an order similar to what I was initially hoping to for the B2G1.

The coupons won't stack with the discount links anymore for me. Am I doing something wrong? Or has it changed?

But weren't there one or two (different UPCs) 20% off coupon available? It would yield a better price than the $5 off coupon; or was it unusual to have that % off available and is it unlikely to be repeated?

No you're not doing anything wrong. It's been mentioned a few times already but since about May B&N has made it so you can't use some of the coupons with the bookstore links. Seems it's primarily the 10% and 15% non-member coupons that are effected. A few non-member and member coupons were still working but they expired last night. However there are a several coupons on the list you can use at specific links but they are only valid with the links listed in the fine print.

One suggestion if you can't use the coupon at a bookstore link it still should probably work for Bing 8% cashback. However the Bing option will be around until the end of July when they are shutting down. Purchases made until then should qualify for cashback. If you need more information about Bing closing see the thread located here. It can probably answer any questions you may have.

Yes there were a few 20% coupons available during the Criterion sale last year. However I'm not holding my breath there will be any for the sale next month. Other than renewal and new account coupons it's hard to predict when and if B&N will issue them. They are not as common as the 10% and 15% coupons, and are not issued every month.

Darn, I didn't see this post until today. NONE of the Dr Who DVD's are included now. Guess I missed it...

Today's deal of the day is Sopranos Complete Series (DVD set, not BD) for $199.99 (50% off). With the Library link and new account coupon, it should be a decent price. I'm not sure how low that has gone in the past...

It was pretty limited, a lot of them had the discount but weren't b2g1 and vice versa. I finally got the Beginning Collection I had been looking to pick up.

Picked up three blu-rays I was waiting to drop to lower prices. I used my AAA discount with the extra 15% off and free shipping.

The Karate Kid, Part II $17.20
Neverending Story $0.00
History of the World -- Part I $20.24

I bought the following for like $32.54 shipped including tax:

- "I Know What You Did Last Summer"/"I Still Know What You Did Last Summer" (Double Feature)
- "Friday"
- "Menace II Society"

All Blu-ray. I'm pleased.

I ordered the following 3 BDs:

A Bug's Life
No Country for Old Men: 2 Disc Edition
Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band: London Calling - Live in Hyde Park (Pre-order)

A Bug's Life and No Country For Old Men are on sale for 23.99 each and the Springsteen pre-order is 24.21. All 3 were eligible for the buy 2 get one free offer (surprised the pre-order qualified) and when combined with the AAA discount and 15% off coupon I paid only $43.17 with tax.

I noticed you can now get all 3 volumes of the Adventures of Young Indiana Jones for an average under $20 each with the B2G1F sale. Best deal is if you have a membership and use the $5/$5/$5 coupon with the library link. Comes out to about $52 for all three volumes before tax.

Dang, too bad I already own this, or I would be happy with this set. Awesome deal. I also noticed they dropped the price on the Bourne Blu-ray set to like $42, but I just can't find two other items that are not over priced

The Sony blu-ray 2 packs are a good deal, i ordered St Elmos Fire/About Last Night, Gattaca/The Fifth Element, and Caddyshack for $34 with library link and coupon

Good suggestions on those blu-ray 2-packs. You can search "Blu-ray - 2 PACK" and find them. I'm definitely going to get Gattaca/Fifth Element and I Know What You Did Last Summer 1&2, and probably About Last Night & St Elmo's Fire...

Tempting. It would be a blind buy for me because I've never seen the show but it almost seems worth it just for the extras.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

My patience with B & N and Bing is almost at an end. Justification aside, first they discontinue the member discount for people who paid for a membership already.

Second, they raise their prices after the buy two get one sale starts; DVD best sellers were 30% off when the sale started and the next day it was reduced to 20% off, only an extra 10% off since box sets are always 10% off.

Last there is Bing. For months even though entry was made through MSN/Bing, purchases were not recognized and only after two e-mails and forwarding the sales receipt e-mail was sent did you get the credit. The problem seemed to be corrected and now it is back again. I recently placed two B & N orders, a day apart, and both through Bing. The first was recognized and the second wasn't. As to the latter, I sent the customer service request to Bing and got the reply asking for the order confirmation. I sent it. Then instead of getting the credit, I got a request as to how much the cashback was and after replying, another reply that a request was being made to B & N for verification before they would even temporarily post the credit.

Shopping with B & N and Bing just isn't worth the effort. I'm using ebate now.
