Assume that all of these are available to all customers unless specifically listed as member only.

Mini FAQ
Coupons should not work for PREORDERS , Criterions, Nook, Legos, Rosetta Stone, Digital, Gift Cards, Memberships, etc.
Free Shipping is $25 (before tax/shipping) or with membership.
Online only a single code can be applied to an order

Return period is 14 days after delivery though possibly it's 30 days now for most people though there is a discrepancy b/w the receipt and website.
Online ordered items can returned to a local store unless it's classified as a web-only item then it's at the store's discretion to accept

Single Item 15% OFF, but should be reusable in different transaction and if the Clerks will scan it more than once.

Sorry to all the folks who requested coupons from me last night. I was away from the computer and saw the PMs too late, though I think I gave away 6 or 7 codes.

Cool, thank you. I'll wait until then before I start buying the movies I want.

Yes, but they're separate $10 gift cards that aren't good until December or something.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Any coupons released yet this week? I received one 20% off coupon in the mail today to go with my B&N membership good in-stores and has an online code. I tested the code, and it is not applicable to Criterion Collection items online during the sale. Each Criterion title has this on the product page: Note: This item does not qualify for coupons or promotional discounts unless expressly stated. Might be worth trying in-store to see if it can be applied.

New store coupons. And the good news is they are generic that can be used over and over at stores.

They must have recently added the restrictions online in anticipation of the new coupons that were coming. Strange they add them now after allowing coupons last week with the Halloween coupon promotion.

Well, that sucks. I was hoping for an applicable non-member coupon tomorrow. I'll still wait a day and see if one works before placing my order. Also, B & N is no longer on a certain rebate site.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Thanks, Laser!

I wonder if that new set of new member (e.g. $8 off) coupons is coming...then we'd have two separate $8 off coupons to use!

There is a new one that is supposed to be out but I have not been able to find it. It might not come out until next week. Maybe on Monday.

i received a mailer today in my actual mailbox with this, a 20% coupon, a coupon for $10 off a cheesecake, and something about a cookbook. four coupons total. the 20% off one item coupon has a code attached to it. so keep your eye out amongst the catalogs in your mail...i almost threw it away. Nice to have that and the one Laser posted to get two at once with zero hassle.

And with this development, I'm officially no longer worried about B & N's eventual, inevitable disappearance. New release Criterions seem to drop to $24.99 around release, and with GB subtracted, that's only a dollar or so more than they would be from B & N. Plus, Amazon's shipping is substantially quicker and their customer service isn't even in the same ballpark.

Anyone else notice that the 20% off coupon link is named this:
1108_m_DCHoliday_25off_coup.gif

Perhaps they were going to give 25% off, then changed their minds... Or someone just F'd up...

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

On two different visits/transactions, I was able to use a BN Buzz code 503101for 15% off Rashomon and used the 20% off printed coupon available this week on Bottle Rocket. I was surprised the printed coupon was taken as it does not work online on Criterion titles on sale. If you want to use it, I'd recommend going soon. The $5 off $15+ BN Buzz code 503101 expired on 11/1, but it looks like the ones released later for 15% off haven't expired yet.

My order from 10/31 finally arrived this morning. I'll probably be making one more order before the sale ends.

Maybe they changed their minds. The last few years B&N has issued some 25% coupons around this time but I have not seen any sign of any yet. It looked like the 20% was planned since the coupon information for it came out a few weeks ago. So it doesn't appear if it was a mistake.

With the generic coupons the coupon numbers are different with the store and online versions. The coupon restrictions are for only online orders. The store coupons should work because they use different codes. So far B&N has never put restrictions at stores with the regular printable coupons. I would assume they should work until they expire Sunday at the close of business.

Ditto here. Used the 20 % on a couple Criterions. Winked at the cashier and had her run the two blu rays as two separate purchases (used the 20 % twice).

Rashomon and Sweet Smell of Success for $15 and change for each.

There were some coupons back in the last Criterion sale that did not work in store (I think they were the 'surprise' coupons?). As the above poster said, use the coupon fast - you never know.

Re: Barnes And Noble Coupon Thread Part 2

Wasn't able to manipulate the system. The cashier was pretty square about the whole deal. When I asked if I could use the same coupon for different transactions, he made a statement about it being "cheating the computer system" to try it. Then he called the manager to see if he could do it. Sucks this guy took his $8 an hour job that serious.

Walked out with just 3 movies, averaged $14 a piece of coupons/trial membership discount.

I'll try again tomorrow when I'm with friends to see if I could get a better result. If not I'll just suck it up and buy them for $18.

Looks like I'm one and done with this sale unless another online coupon surfaces. I don't have a B&N near me that has a media section. What is their reasoning behind punishing online customers?

Ditto, International customer here and very much a sad panda due to the lack of online working codes

They punish in-store customers, too. :/

Things certainly aren't what they used to be for international customers regarding coupon codes etc. (I used to have a membership; pointless now), but this sale still amounts to the best value deal on Criterions anywhere, anytime. I'm happy. Very happy.
