About $20/season? That's sweet.

Re: General Costco DVD Thread

Question: anyone recall Costco's current price for Rumpole of the Bailey: Complete Series Megaset?

I saw this at my local Costco the other day but I didn't look at the price. I haven't been interested in the series due to my lack of exposure to it, but reading up on it has led me to be willing to take a chance on it. The price at Amazon for the same box set is pretty good -- $40.99. I would like to save myself a trip to Costco if their asking price is significantly more.

Thanks in advance.

It's been $54.99 at my Costco. That's a fairly good price at Amazon.

Amazon UK has it for 15 pounds, so about $30 shipped.

Thanks!

Good find on the price from Amazon UK, but my personal preference for the Region 1 product will probably lead me to order it stateside.

Re: General Costco DVD Thread

Don't know if it's been mentioned, but I saw GWTW Scarlett Edition for $12.99 at Costco on Saturday. This matches the deal for Wizard of Oz Emerald Edition that they had earlier this year. If I didn't have the box set already, I would have bought it.

This was at the Melville NY store. About a dozen copies seen.

^^ I spotted that in the Edison NJ store too.
If I didn't already have the single-disc one, I'd have grabbed that baby.

I picked up the John Wayne set. Its a combo of the Wayne Fox Western set, and 3 from MGM. A steal at $20.

Nothing yet. Maybe after Christmas? The DVD sales announcements are much different this year.
In years past there was a separate circular with weekly DVD instant offs. Last year instead of a separate circular they were listed in the monthly Costco magazine. This year there was nothing except when you went to the store and saw signs with sale information. As not all stores put up the signs I have been checking here for any deals I may have missed.

The $5 instant rebate is back for Looney Tunes Golden Collections and the Hanna Barbera sets bring the prices down to $19 and $14 respectively. Good until 12/24 per the sign.

I've been to Costco a few times since this originally started and am always tempted by these sets. I have the first two Golden Collections and always want to pick up the other four, but don't know when I'll have time to watch all of them. The prices are really great though. I got some early Christmas gift cash, so I may have to break down and snag them before the week is out.

Besides not being a Costco member (a problem which I can get around if I'm willing to bug other people I know), the problem is I already bought all of these but The Horse Soldiers and The Big Trail (they're not exactly my favorite John Waynes). I agree this is a great deal and had this deal been around years ago it would've saved me a lot of money vs. buying them separately.

Re: General Costco DVD Thread

Can anyone tell me whether the Wayne, Grant, Newman sets are in keep cases (the Amazon photo looks like it) or digi-packs? My Costco doesn't carry them.

I went earlier today and ended up getting the last Twilight Zone definitive series set. Got it for $99.99 which is great since the lowest i could find the set was $110 before shipping.

Add this set to the TCM $9.99 sets at Costco

TCM Greatest Classic Film Collection: Gangsters - Prohibition Era (The Public Enemy / The Roaring Twenties / Little Caesar / Smart Money)

http://www.amazon.com/TCM-Greatest-C...3127992&sr=8-1

If the WBshop hadn't had that great sale of $11.24 Gangster Box sets over Black Friday weekend, I would be all over this

Re: General Costco DVD Thread

I saw the original Roots mini series 30th Anniversary edition for $14.99.

I also saw Zorro the complete Family Channel series for $59.99 Same price as Amazon but out early as not being released until Tuesday. Also saw it out early at Best Buy for $69.99. Surprised that this release is getting so much retail space.

I agree. I saw this in my Costco early last week. I thought it was a repackaging of the Disney show until I picked it up and read the back of the box. I've never heard of it until now.
