Yeah, I was thinking a blind buy if it was $44 for both, but will pass as well.

And thanks for the early coupon news Cracksky. I was holding several of those sets in my hands yesterday, glad I decided to wait.

Thanks. Being a Samsung though, its probably still more than I'm looking to pay for one.

Actually, it should be $799.99 with that coupon. I doubt the wife will see reason though.

Re: General Costco DVD Thread

I was so annoyed. I saw the sign above where the HBO display USED to be, but there was no display! I looked around and saw they had the display hidden in the employee-only area in the back.

Still managed to spend $200 there...damn Costco...

Re: General Costco DVD Thread

How do the coupons work exactly? Do I just need one coupon and they scan it per how many DVD sets I buy? Or do I need multiple coupons?

Thanks.

Re: General Costco DVD Thread

You just need one coupon.

Make sure the product numbers match.

Make sure you don't buy more then you are allowed. (limit)

HTH.

And a few others I forget.

Re: General Costco DVD Thread

A few days ago I picked up Volumes 2, 3, and 4 of Warner Bros. Film Noir Collection for $22 each.

20 movies for $66 and change seems like a no-brainer.

Re: General Costco DVD Thread

My Costco only had 1 copy of Vol 1 and 3 left unfortunately, but for those who are in the same predicament, Amazon has them for $24 and DD with the 25% sale will have them for $20-21.

Nice catch. I am missing 1 or 2 of the sets.

Will still stick with Costco if possible though. I try to "reward them" with as many purchases as possible. Plus its nice to know that I can return them years later if I find a problem, or find them cheaper.

Re: General Costco DVD Thread

The Costco is literally within walking distance so it is handy no doubt, I'm just wondering if they will be restocking the Film Noir sets while they are still on sale.

There were some new BBC sets I saw today. Robin Hood seasons 1 and 2 and Torchwood seasons 1 and 2. All of them were $44.99 each. Pretty decent prices. Amazon has torchwood 1 and 2 for around $49.

Re: General Costco DVD Thread

Isn't that $12 price by the far the best we've seen anywhere for Carnivale seasons, or did I miss something?

Re: General Costco DVD Thread

My local Costco (Elkridge, MD) restocked their DVD section and got in some more Film Noir sets, they had all but Volume 2 yesterday for the same $21.99 price. My wife found Volume 4 yesterday buried behind a stack of Volume 1, which made my day

Re: General Costco DVD Thread

I found a new BBC set that I hadn't seen at Costco before -- The Anton Chekhov Collection. Six packed discs, with a total of 11 plays (there are 2 productions each of The Cherry Orchard and Uncle Vanya) as well as radio plays, 5 short stories read by Ewan McGregor, and a couple of documentaries. Price is $30, but the $10 off coupon knocks it down to $20. Well worth it if you're a drama freak like me!

The Boetticher westerns for that price is astounding. I paid more and it was definitely worth it.

If you don't have that set already, for $18.99 it is essential!
