When I stopped in Union NJ yesterday, they had one copy each of Golden Girls S1, S5, S6, and S7. I grabbed the S5. Cashier said they'd just come in, and were selling like hotcakes.

You should get it this week.

I was told either August 15th or 16th but I think it will be the 17th.
About a 2 weeks in between coupon books.

Re: General Costco DVD Thread

I picked up that X-Files movies two-pack Blu Ray set for $23.99. That's a great deal for fans of the show. I never got the second film and only had an original non-anamorphic DVD of Fight The Future so this was a great find for me.

May I ask model & price of the following:

Blu-ray player
Netbook
...
and maybe TVs if there aren't too many to list.

Thanks so much!

When did they lower the price point for this show? It's $10.49 at Amazon right now. And $10.99 at DD. I know it wasn't that cheap during the 25% off sale, cuz it was on my wishlist.

It will be $199 with the coupon. Anyone considering this player though, be warned. I just returned one last week. My dad bought one to go with his new 55" Samsung LCD. When he tried watching movies on it, they would hesitate or stutter. Samsung support told him to install the latest firmware update. He did that exactly as instructed, and then the player would not even recognize when a disc was put in. So we took it back (since I'm the one with the membership) and he spent the extra $20 for the Sony which is working perfectly for him.

We're now in the same boat in Georgia -- the $13.99 Columbia assortment fiinally hit today, but no $18.99 Columbia assortment yet.

Has everyone else's Costco eliminated the black boxes and gone to wire racking? I can't believe I am saying this, but I miss the black boxes because it tended to be easier to tell what was included in each assortment and you could sometimes get a peek at more stuff that hadn't yet been moved to the top for emphasis and/or find some older items that had been missed when they returned the unsold portion of the assortment.

Jay

Re: General Costco DVD Thread

There was a prior post about the TVs in next week's Costco coupon book. Is there a 32" Proscan and is available only on-line? And if possible, could just the names of the brand(s) be posted?

Thanks for taking the time to help me out!

Any idea what the specs are for the Acer Aspire? I saw at costco.com the version with 160gb hard drive but the item# was different. Wondering if it is the same one as advertised? Also what is in the accesory kit?

As for TVs I'm looking for either Samsung or Sony 1080p/120Hz+/40"+ under $1500.

Snowmaker, thanks for your review on the Samsung Blu-Ray player. I hate products that are not out-of-the-box usable. My parents had a Sony TV that you had to do a firmware update immediately and the firmware almost bricked it.

Re: General Costco DVD Thread

All the Ghibli films (sans Castle in the Sky and Kiki's Delivery Service) were on sale for $12.99.

Also saw some 3-disc collections like Angelina Jolie collection for $8.99. They had others like George Clooney, Sandra Bullock, etc. All thinpaks.

Picked up Sideways for $4.99. Might have been able to get it cheaper, but oh well. Not bad.

They also had House of Flying Daggers BLU for $12.99.

Unfortunately, costco doesn't accept the $3.00 "Staycation" coupons from sony for these titles.

Did they have Princess Mononoke or more obscure titles like Pom Poko? Thanks!

Re: General Costco DVD Thread

I noticed some new TV-DVD deals at Costco today. They had many Fox TV DVD's on sale for $19.99, including the following that I remember:

Boston Legal S1-5 (note that this includes the newest released season)
24 - assorted seasons (didn't notice which specific seasons were included)
Bones - S1-2 (my Costco didn't seem to have S3 so I'm not sure if it's included or not)
Burn Notice S1

They also had Two and a Half Men Seasons 1-4 for $19.99.

Is 24 Season 7 also part of the $19.99 sale?

Thanks!

I don't believe it was now that I think of it. Sorry for any confusion. I didn't really take note of all the seasons of 24 that were included. If anyone else goes to Costco and can give a better answer, please do so. I am going to modify my original post....

They also have seasons 1-7 of Smallville and seasons 1-4 of Nip/Tuck for $19.99 each, at least they do at my local Costco.
