Almost got Band of Brothers Blu-ray for that price, but I already own the DVD (which I still haven't had the chance to watch), so I passed on the deal.

Great price. Ironically, I just returned that set to Costco the other day. I found a newer set with some new-to-DVD shows making it 10 titles, but for $20.

I just saw that The X-Files and Stargate sets are on display, priced $179.99. With the $60 discount, that would be $119.99. That is substantially cheaper than any other retailer is currently selling those sets.

They also have the Casablanca UCE (standard), the Western Classics Collection and Gangsters Collections 3 & 4 for $37.99... and very few of the western and gangster sets BTW.

Did anyone see Get Smart: Complete Series? I havent been there in a month or so and forgot the price.

The $30 instant savings next week might make it a good deal.

It's $114.99. I'm thinking of picking it up also.

There's 2 different DVD sets. I have the one with Rudolph and Frosty, and has 5 shows. They expanded it to 7 recently, and added Magoo's Christmas Carol and some Cricket show. The set with 10 shows has completely different ones, including Grinch.

There are actually at least 5 different variations of this set, probably more. They change it slightly almost every year.

A little off-topic, but the DVD version can still be sold for decent cash if you wanted to upgrade. I bought the blu-ray version during the DD sale and turned around and sold my original version for $40 on half.com. After their fees, it only cost me like $5 out-of-pocket to upgrade.

So, that $5 off select Blu-ray titles coupon in the book for this week is good on all what titles? I know the coupon shows 5 or 6 of them.

If I'm not mistaken, the Panasonic BD35K Blu Ray player is supposed to be on sale for $80 off, starting Dec. 5th. I was at my local Costco today looking for their price on this, and they didn't have any. (!) I was planning on getting one of these this weekend - has anyone seen it at Costco, and if so, how much was it? Thanks...

$279.99, so the price will be $199.99. Some Costco locations also have last year's model, the BD30, for $199.99. The same $80 discount will apply to this model, making it $119.99. I know that it's only Profile 1.1 and has certain other issues, but for $120, I'm going to pick up this model(I already own the two rebate movies that you would get with the BD35).

Same here - there are none in my location, either. I'm hoping that they get some in for the sale - I'm planning on being there tomorrow morning.

Amazon currently has this set for just $43.99.

I declare shenanigans on Costco. I just got back from the location that has the BD30 and they jacked up the price by $50. They were selling this for $200 last week. Today, the price was $250, $170 after rebate. I don't think that they would raise the price on the newer BD35. Hopefully someone can confirm that that player is $200 after rebate.

Before you declare shenanigans on Costco, I think it's quite possible that the "instant manufacturer's rebate" may have stipulations by the manufacturer requiring a certain base price in order for Costco to receive the rebate and pass it on to the consumer. Regardless, $170 is a better deal than the previous $200 and one of the best prices I've seen at any B&M.

Point taken. You may be right because I've never known Costco to jack up prices before a coupon sale. However, now that the price difference is only $30, I'd rather get the newer BD35 that's Profile 2.0.

Well, still an amazing deal considering how many of us (gladly) shelled out more than $400 for the BD-30 a year ago. . .

The price was $200 last week because a different promotion was going on. The same is true for the BD35. Until yesterday, it was $279.99 with a mfr promotion of $50 off (ending 12/4) for a sale price of $229.99. Starting today, there is a Costco instant savings of $80, making the sale price $199.99. The base price didn't change, just the discount being applied.

Negative. There wasn't a promotion going on last week for the BD30, at least not at my Costco. It was priced $199.99(there wasn't anything on the price tag about it being $250 with a $50 instant rebate). Now there was an instant $50 rebate on the BD35 last week. You're probably right(it would make sense), but they definitely didn't indicate this with their price tag. The sign that they had up made it seem that the everyday price for the BD30 was $199.99.

I can confirm that the BD35 is $199.99, after the $80 instant savings - I bought one this morning. I was pretty happy, because my location did not stock them until this sale.

Thanks all for the heads up that the coupon/instant savings that Costco use to hand out in the stores were in the Costco Connection magazine this year.
I never bothered to look at the magazine before. Luckily I hadn't thrown it out.

I went to my Costco Friday morning hoping to find the BD35, but they still didn't have it. When I asked the guy working in the department about it, he rattled off a list of three other manufacturers that he says they carry, "but not Panasonic". When I mentioned the sale notice in the magazine, he told me it was online only. I knew that was horsecrap, but what was the point of arguing? They didn't have it, and apparently never even heard of it. Is there a shortage on the BD35, I wonder?

The magazine says at the bottom of each of the last 4 coupon pages: "All products subject to availability on hand in the warehouses"

They covered themselves.

The coupon covers from 12/5 - 12/14. I would go to the front desk and ask about stock on that product. They should tell you if that warehouse carries it or any other one in your area. It might come back in stock before 12/14.

Jim - I'm not sure which one you went to, but try the South County Costco. I was there today and they had the BD35 for $199.
