I'd go with the $19.98 one which with a Member discount combined with a coupon is easily

If I could be confirmed that the Playboy one came with the discs I would buy this right away, but I can't be guaranteed that so I don't want to risk it...

There isn't one that doesn't come with the discs. A previous poster was confusing this set with a copy of a replica of the first issue sold by itself at Playboy.com.

I should have mine in tomorrow or the next so I will post confirmation.

I thought I had missed out on this (kept clicking on dead links), but it looks like I'm able to snag a Rolling Stone. Wish it had been 2 cents higher so I could get free shipping, though.

does it say when this sale will end? i'd like to pick the playboy set up, but i'd prefer to get it in-store because i don't want the set to get mangled in the mail. but i won't get the chance to check a store until this weekend.

There's an inventory locator. That should tell you which stores have the item, but it's not always right and since it's a clearance item it could be anywhere, not just where it shoud normally be. With my RS one, the vey helpful girl couldn't find a copy even though her inventory said she had a few. She took my number, then hung up and looked for it. 20 min later she called me back and told me she had the copy at the front desk for me.
If you're going to pick one up in store, I would certainly call first!

Keep in mind, at the B&N I went to, the kiosk told me it was in the bargain section of the store, and what I found was the big black book called "Playboy: 50 Years of Playmates".

My order is out for delivery as I speak. Too bad I'll be at work when it arrives, it's coming a day earlier than the website said it would have so others should be on the lookout for their copy or copies!

Got both the Playboy set and the Rolling Stone set in today. Both were sealed and both included the discs as I knew they would. The had bargain sticker UPCs on the front of them stating they were regular $100 & $125 respectively and were marked down to $24.98.

Damn, the packages that hold the discs & books are huge! I am surprised they qualified for free express shipping.

I plan to send in the rebate card and get the Rolling Stone set for even cheaper!

Yeah...that is a different bargain book at B&N. When did reading a description of a product online become so difficult?

I went to the nearest B&N store at lunch today to see if they had any of the Rolling Stone Discs - they had about 6 of them... BUT...they were full price. I took one to the Customer Service counter and asked if these were on sale in store like they were on the website, but she said no. As always, YMMV.

Asking the price.
Doing a price check.
Actually ringing the item up for sale.

Three completely different things with possibly three entirely different amounts.

On the page with the item, right below the ADD TO CART button, there's a place for you to enter your zip and hit ENTER. It will then list stores near you and whether the item is in stock. I would still call and confirm since the inventory isn't always right.

I just got mine today too. I was gonna say the same thing about how big it is. VERY nice packaging.

Thanks again for posting this. Awesome!

I'm shocked - SHOCKED! - to learn that a product arrived including discs when the on-line write-up clearly stated it would include discs!

So you don't think some concern was warranted when one listing said just "Hardcover" (the one that was linked) and the other said "Hardcover Book with DVDs" and one person got one without discs?

Plus the discs are not DVDs, btw.

I think we all had a right to be a little concerned.

Got my Rolling Stone set today. Quite the package for like $16 after coupon and membership discount. And a free 1-year subscription to boot. Thanks OP.

Uh, no. The pictures provided by B&N clearly showed the discs as well as mentioned them in the description. It clearly showed the price marked down from the msrp. It clearly states Bargain. One person "claims" they bought a copy without the dvds but there is not a "copycat" release on B&N like this that doesn't include the dvds. If you needed more reassurance than that then you are retarded. It is not like we are dealing with a no-name store or unknown online shop.

As far as the disc not being dvds...who cares. They have every issue of Rolling Stone or the 50's Playboys on them. Read the damn descriptions.

I have never seen so much whining in a bargain thread before. Jesus.
