Great price on Playboy - The 50's & Rolling Stone Every Issue DVD-Roms at B&N

Looks like Barnes & Noble have clearanced out these collections which both have normal list prices of $125 & $100. Now they are just $24.98 each (or $22.48 if you have a B&N card). It also appears these deals are available in the stores as well.

You get free shipping if your order is over $25. I have several comic book collections on DVD-rom and it is really cool having an entire library right there on a disc.

Fantastic deal - I'm in for Rolling Stone. Thanks for the post!

Also, check the Barnes & Noble Coupon thread in this forum for a 25% off coupon!

Even with my member discount and using a 25% off coupon, I paid over $10 more for the Rolling Stone set three weeks ago.
Does Barnes & Noble do any sort of price-difference refunds in situations like this (like Amazon)?

Thanks for the heads-up - they've had these sets in the 50% off stack, and I've been waiting for them to drop. Also, the Rolling Stone set comes with a voucher for a free year subscription.

Anyone know if they are instore at this price as well?

Reminds me of a great truth I read on this forum.

Rolling Stone has/had a deal where they offered a lifetime subscription for $100. People were discussing the best way to take advantage, like by giving the sub to your youngest child to get the most years.

Someone responded; "Better yet, give the lifetime subscription to the child of your worst enemy, that way, they'll grow up to be a leftist with horrible taste in music."

Use a 25% coupon and add in a cheap $5 bargain book instead of paying $3.99 for shipping.

They are. I bought the Rolling Stone set yesterday instore at this price, and saw the Playboy set there as well.

Thanks to JohnBeas, I remembered to use the coupon. I get them in the mail but I rarely order from BN so I probably deleted it.

The Rolling Stone link doesn't work.

EDIT: DAMMIT! It's sold out. I really wanted this. Closest B&N is over an hour away...not making the drive.

If she's that uptight, that's a sign to get a new girlfriend.

Thank you for posting this great deal! I just picked up the Rolling Stone collection for $18.75 at my local store by using the 25% off coupon. My store didn't even have it on the shelves. Customer service had to go into the back room to get it.

I purchase the Rolling Stone archive, and when I got home opened it.

No DVD-ROMS anywhere. Anyone else get this when they opened their package?

I plan on taking it back, but I can't see them refunding the money.

Looking at the Playboy page, I see that what's actually on sale, despite the picture, is the BOOK that comes with the DVD-Roms, not the DVD-Rom/Book set which still sales for regular price. Buyer Beware etc

Which is odd, because you get the entire package (book, DVD holder, etc.) wrapped, but not the DVD's themselves.

I took it back and they refunded my money, thank goodness.

Well, the B&N links clearly state that this is the dvd-rom set for both of them. I think you just got a freak one.

Damn, you're right. Plus the Rolling Stone link doesn't work.

I'm curious what I'll get in the mail. Looks like I might be taking a trip to a local BN.

It wont let me cancel online and their customer service is closed until tomorrow. I want to cancel because if you return online orders in store you only get store credit as a refund.

What good is the package without the discs? I can't cancel at this point. No discs = refund. Publishing the book probably costs as much if not more than making the discs.
